The sun was beginning to rise and a strange man walked into a town he didn't know and where he didn't know anyone who lived there. The people watched him enter the town with much curiosity. They started to follow him into the town square in the hope that he may be a performer. When he got to the center of town, he sat on the edge of the water fountain and didn't move. The people stood and watched him for a while, but became bored and went back to their daily lives. Once the crowd had left he began to walk once more and headed for the outskirts of the town where an abandoned run-down cottage lay. That was were he spent the night.
In the morning, he found a little wooden bowl in one of the drawers. He took this bowl and walked down the street to some berry bushes he had passed the previous day. After he had filled the bowl, he headed back to the house. As he started back he noticed a mother and her son coming down the road. The mother worked as a maid in a neighbouring town and her son had a limp from birth that caused him to need a crutch in order to walk. She would have left the boy at home but there was no one there to take care of him if he fell or got hurt, and so she took him with her to work. As the two approached the man, he dropped his bowl of fruit and wrapped the young boy in a hug. Then the man reached out for the boy to hand him the crutch. Reluctantly the boy obeyed and he immediately became able to walk without it. The mother was so happy that she began to cry and held the boy close. When they remembered the man, they noticed that he had already walked away with his bowl of berries, but now the man had a limp and had to use a crutch.
When news of the boy being healed flooded the town, everyone with any type of illness went to meet the man. The man travelled all around the town healing the people. By the end of the day he had to be led back to the cottage due to multiple illnesses, becoming disfigured, and now being blind. He was laid in the cottage, but his condition only became worse. At around midnight, the town doctor announced to the town that the man had died. Due to how late it was, everyone agreed to wait until morning to bury the man and headed to their own homes to go to sleep.
The next morning the town gathered around the house only to find that the man was gone. The only sign that he had even been there was the little bowl of berries that sat on the small table.
In another town the sun was beginning to rise and a strange man walked into a town he didn't know and where he didn't know anyone who lived there.
