Highschool Secrets chapter 2
As we were walking down the sidewalk I felt Alice's hand slide into the palm of mine. "I feel so safe around you" she suddenly spoke, "It's like I was meant to meet you or something" She smiled timidly. "Yeah I feel the same way" I bet my smile was just as timid as hers. "Pizza or sandwiches?" she asked and I answered, i don't know... how about pizza?" then she suddenly suggested, "Okay lets go get some pizza then go to the park!". So then we set out for the pizza parlor, ate some pizza, then went down to the park. She was sitting on a swing and I was sitting in the wood-chips on the ground. "How come you don't sit on a swing with me?" she said while she stared into my eyes, "Okay, okay I'll sit with you" I said with my hands in the air as if surrendering. As I swung thoughtfully back and forth I kept trying to figure out why she asked me out me of all people at Jefferson she chose me and I also kept hoping that she liked me, the way I liked her. Then suddenly I snapped out of my trance when I heard an ear piercing scream from nearby. "ALICE!" I yelled when I realized Mason, had followed us here and was trying to kidnap Alice. Without even thinking, I started running full speed towards the huge rock of a person and slammed into his back knocking the breath out of him and making him let Alice go. I wrapped my arm around Alice's waist when he fell to the ground and picked her up. After situating her in my arms I ran at the highest speed my legs could handle and ran to my old childhood hiding place under a cave of rocks. Alice was shaking and sobs were ripping from her chest in fright as I set her down and hugged her close. "It's okay, relax Alice, It's okay" I kept repeating this till she calmed down enough to speak. "he... I..... so scared..." She sobbed in my chest with tears still running down her face, and staining my shirt with the saltwater. Then, when she was calm enough I stood up still carrying her, checked my watch, and started to walk home slowly. It was about time for the last bell for school to ring so I was heading to my house. When we arrived my mom wasn't home so I set Alice on the small bench beside the door, found the extra key, and scooped her back up. When we were inside the house Alice was still shaking slightly so I put down onto the couch gently and went to go heat up some chicken noodle soup. "you really don't need to do this." she whispered when I came with the soup. "But I want to" I spoke softly "and you know that Mason would have hurt you" I reminded her. She started to eat the soup slowly and we started to talk about what she had been thinking. "I'm so sorry!" she cried hugging me again. I patted her back soothingly "It's not your fault" "but it is!" "Alice" "yes?" "no its not" and I placed my finger on her lips before she could respond. "and its a Friday so you can call your parents and see if you can stay here" I smiled "okay!" and she grinned that beautiful one I loved. "I'll go to your house and get your stuff okay? be back in a bit stay here." I crept into her house through her second story window and grabbed some clothes for her and a toothbrush, brush, and accessories. "I'm back" I spoke carefully not to frighten her. I then scooped her up and started carrying her up to my bedroom. "what are you doing?" She asked curiously, "Bringing you to my room so you and I can change clothes." I answered "and I'll change in the closet" I added quickly. "No it's fine stay out of the closet I don't care." she put in calmly. I set her down on my bed and went to grab a new shirt while she changed behind me. When I turned back around she was wearing a blue shirt and half vest with tan jeans, a tie, red & white arm warmers, black flats, and her hair up in 2 ponytails on the side of her head with a head band and her hair was now red. I gaped more then I had before. "like it?" she asked? "yes......." I said still wide eyed. "I'm glad." she answered and almost danced towards me. Suddenly her lips were on mine before I could react and her hands on each side of my face. I felt my own hands grasping for her waist, when I found her waist I pulled her closer and she wrapped her arms around my neck for a long 10 seconds or so. Then I let go and gasped for air and as did she. Then she turned towards me smiling and I grinned back. "now lets stay in the house for today shall we?" she said, "let's" I agreed.
