When Peter followed my gaze towards the dark figure he stiffened and I could here a growl rumbling in his chest. "what is it?" I asked nervously. He didn't answer. He towed me into the trees again and told me to stay there. So while I was waiting I sat down in the dirt and thought of what had happened and was happening. Then suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my neck then all I could see was pitch black.
As I started to wake up I saw a familiar shape dangling in front of me snarling furiously. "Peter?" I mumbled stupidly "Stay still Ann!" He growled, that startled me. What was happening? I looked around, Then I saw about six dwarfs standing in front of Peter with weapons in their tiny hands. I started to lift to my feet, "Dammit stay down ANN!" He almost roared and knocked me to my feet while shaking. I stared at him grudgingly then felt a small hand on my arm. I yelped naturally, "Why are you here?" a rough voice demanded in a shaky voice I answered, "who wants to know?" I glared at Peter grabbing for the pocket-knife I realized he still had in his pocket. Then I saw a flash and I was on the ground dazed and confused. "wha-what happened?" I saw Peter battling against the feeble dwarfs and he was practically screaming my name, "ANN?! ANN CAN YOU HEAR ME?". I choked out, "yeah". Then suddenly I felt his cool arms around me and felt nothing else, not even the pattern of his running footsteps. "what happened?" "dwarf colony," he said knowing that was all I needed to know. "Ansestra's?" "yep". "maybe I should just let her have me," He stared down at me with an agonized expression on his face. "you shouldn't have to go through all this pain and torture for me being a human and all, you would expect you or another vampire to have killed me by now," His face suddenly darkened "but like I said before I love you, and I always will," He smiled my favorite crooked smile down at me making the darkness in his face disperse and I grinned back. "I think you can put me down now," He grudgingly set me down softly without releasing his hands form my arms. Then he brought me into a cold stone embrace and I wrapped my own arms around his chest. "you know, my heart hasn't beat in almost ninety years," "vamp thing?" "yeah" He shrugged awkwardly around me "but it's a thing you get used to". Then as we turned the corner there was small village "FINALLY!" I yelled. "relax," He said soothingly. "let's go get some new clothes" He said as he smiled sneakily "lets do this!" I grinned.
