Oh no! It's been almost a week since my last entry! I'm so sorry--I didn't realize--It's all my fault--! ; __; I'll change, I swear! See? I'm already fixing the problem! I'm updating my journal! I know, I can't change what I have done... But I can change what I AM doing! Please! Forgive me! Forgive me...!
...
Alright. I love you too. :D
. . . Hey, wait. If you change the bits about my journal, I think I heard that on a phone conversation a while back. xD That's not funny. D: The guy was really upset. *laughing on the inside*
I've been having a real problem with the Zelda games lately. Link... Doesn't wear pants. It kinda looks like he does in Twilight Legend, but they're not. They're just tights more suitable to his time period. And he wears a skirt. I don't care if it's a tunic, everyone else is wearing pants, and so should he! Especially if he's going to be doing all of those tumbles. I'm scarred for life. Sure, tumbling is a faster way to get around, but those two frames make me want to wail. D: I'm never pressing A AGAIN unless I'm targeting something.
The Nintendo Wii is pretty spiffy. The Wii Sports game is really awesome for messing around with the new-age controller and seeing what it can do. You know, at first I thought the thing had to constantly pointed at the screen to work. Like a TV remote--It works better when pointed in it's destination. But that isn't true at all. I dunno why I thought that now--Especially with that golfing game. xD
And the new Zelda game. It's nice that it isn't absolutely centered around playing with the Wiimote. It's another Zelda game first and foremost. It just uses the Wii's capabilities to it's fullest, adding to the game and making it more enjoyable. As opposed to the Console using the game as it's own whipping boy. And once you stop standing up and swinging your arm to it's fullest to swing the sword, you begin to understand how comfortable the design is. My brother plays laying down, his arms crossed over his stomach, nunchyaku at his side, Wiimote pointed towards the screen for shooting arrows. If his focus weren't on a game, he'd fall asleep. I still swing my arms around a lot, because I haven't fully mastered being able to flick the remote and get what I want. xD So I sit at the ready, with plenty of room around me. But when I'm not bashing my cat, I sit with one arm on the armrest like I'm flipping channels, and the other in my lap. I don't even hold the joystick upright!
Because you have to use your hands to perform the actions, there's a little more immersion in the game. Once you get past having to focus your mind on moving your hands, that is. It's different to adjust to moving more than just your fingers. I know I still haven't gotten it. :3 In fact... I made Link drink two full bottles of lantern oil before I figured out what I was doing. D: And I keep slicing and Dicing Epona (who I affectionately named Icarus. b: Brother named her Scooter. What is with the boys' names?) instead of riding her. I have to admit, though, there are some points of the Wiimote that I don't like. The D-Pad feels like it's too far up for me to reach easily. It's a crucial part of the game, that I need to be able to quickly hit. But I have to stop, and kinda pivot my hand. And then pivot my hand back down (not an easy task!) to get comfortably to the A button. All without pressing the B-trigger. b: Maybe my grip is too tight. But I must say, the Wiimote won't be too comfortable for smaller hands, like those of a child. xD
But in the end, I got a Wii before my friends did. And that's all that really matters.
