Ah-HAH! Indefinite proof that I was in Japan! There is no mistaking that that is Leamony. Look--It just screams Leamony. And the setting is obviously Japan.
... Sigh. That is the Ghibli museum. It is the most interesting place I have ever been. Random doors and stairways about half my size to squeeze into that lead you to fabulous places. Amazing artwork and animations. Recreations of Miyazaki's office lines with fabulous origional artwork. Series of clay figures lined up in a circle that when spun look to animate. Even the walls were jaw-droppingly amazing. They looked textured, but it was just clever painting. You look through a window and--Oh! Dinosaurs?! No, wait--That window is fake! It's painted on! Along with that candle next to it, that shelf, the moth, and that thing that you tried to grab onto to keep you from falling. There were very few windows in the building, but it felt like they were everywhere. They were all painted on, along with a randomd oor that led to fairyland. My friend walked into that door. > __> It was awesome. And the floors--Oh! The floors! My goodness, I wandered around the building at least three times just to catch all of the easter eggs in the floor. Random jewels embedded, secret messages, a random paw print in the cement. You know the fish-castle thing from How'ls Moving Castle? They had a miniature of it. About three feet tall and for sale in a display case.
You weren't allowed to take any pictures while inside of the building. You have no idea how depressed this made me. Everywhere you looked there was something worthy of a photograph. But you were allowed to take pictures in the garden on the roof. Which is where that giant robot lived. ; w; That giant robot is like my soul-mate. JJ took a picture of me hugging it, but I've yet to see JJ or that picture. D< But there was this secret path in the garden we decided to follow. It was pretty amazing. Man oh man, if I ever go back to Japan, I need to visit there again. With more money. The gift shop was expensive. But sooo worth it. <33
