I took a group of wood elf archers and dark elf swordsmen as escorts, largely to try to find a way to prove to my racist village that the dark elves can still help us. (And of course I took Kyaithe.) We went up to a high elf city to request assistance from their mages, as high elves often have higher magical capabilities. It was necessary... but dang, it was a pain.
When we arrived at the city, we stood around for a while before their king finally let me in to say what I wanted, and when I did, we camped outside the city walls for a couple days. Then a guard said "Alright, wood elves, the king has decided to let you stay within our walls while we consider your wish." My first thought YOU MEAN YOU HAVEN'T EVEN BEGUN TO THINK ABOUT IT??? My second thought, which I voiced out loud, was "What about the dark elves?" The stupid guard responded with "What dark elves? I see none. There are no dark elves over there" (pointing EXACTLY at where they were standing). So the wood elves were accepted into the city--where they learned to hate the prejudice and selfishness of the city's inhabitants--and the dark elves stayed outside, completely miserable in their solitude.
Think about it from the dark elves' perspective. They abandoned their homes and betrayed their families for us, and ever since they've been treated like dirt. Now they've been left out like a dog that tore up the furniture. I think it even rained at one point, although I don't quite remember. Yet they stayed where they were, remaining loyal... Where would I be without them?
I did go back and forth between the city and the dark elves' camp, and the looks on their faces... I decided that if the high elf king didn't decide soon, I would take matters into my own hands and try to get mages to come with me on their own accord. Thankfully, after a couple weeks (and mere hours before I lost my patience) the king finally sent me about twenty mages, instructed to do whatever I told them. Although I swear they were also instructed to complain about everything...
The high elves continued to shun the dark elves throughout the entire journey to the mountains. When we got there, I had the mages spread out around the mountains, with a few dark elves and wood elves protecting them. I flew off somewhere to the west and slightly north, nearby some body of water, and the high elves established a mental link with me, as I had instructed. I used them to pinpoint every detail of the mountain range, and then used my earth sword (see my "about me" for more details on that) to create a duplicate mountain range. The plan was to transport the giants there, but then...
I collapsed.
Creating an entire mountain range proved to consume too much energy for me. I did it, but I slipped out of consciousness completely. The last thing I saw--which I was extremely grateful for--was my angel dragon, Darin, who had come when he sensed my distress.
