Here's the result of the king's sacrifice.

The dark elves were torn. They were in awe that the king would walk into their territory alone. Many of them decided to end the war. But the majority... they didn't care.

The dark elves that were inspired by our king came to our village in peace, preparing to help us in the next attack. Partly thanks to them, we knew that the dark elves were planning to surround us and grab our attention while their new allies, some orcs, tunneled into our forest.

I countered their attacks by sending Kyaithe with a commando group to the orc village, and Qal'la with a similar group to the dark elf village. Both villages were decimated.

The army that came to us was in pathetic shape, as a large portion of their army had changed sides. It was easy to fend them off. I killed their commander by creating a pillar of earth to drop on him.

The orcs were even easier. I caved in their tunnels at the front so that only the ones in the back lived. Imagine you're one of those orcs. You were told by the dark elves to tunnel under the forest to get to the wood elves. The dark elves are the only ones who knew about the tunnels, and they mysteriously all caved in at once, and you return home to find your house destroyed. You didn't see a single wood elf. What conclusion would you reach?

The orcs thought that it was a deception by the dark elves. They went crazy. Elf wars can have hundreds of years between invasions because we live so long. But orcs? They just fight. So the dark elves were unprepared for what happened next.The orcs declared war, and soon the dark elves were nearly wiped out of existence (I mean in just that town. Obviously, there's more dark elves in the world.).
