I thought I heard a scream today when I was walking down my neighborhood, it turned out that it was a cry of joy instead. In that second my heart stopped beating. I froze. Honestly, I had always thought myself to be someone to do something great, but when I heard that "scream" I didn't do anything. I just stood there for a second, wondering what I should do. I should have known that the kids living there were just happy because they could go out and play. I've known there were kids in that house for a while. That's what makes it even worse. If they really were in trouble, I wouldn't have been able to protect them. You might think this is just a trivial matter, but to me it's real. I'm a horrible person...
