If you could have any one special power over other people, what would it be? This question has mulled over my mind countless numbers of times. Since when I was a little girl playing with my friends outside in the back yard to now, when I wonder what it would be like to be a super hero…
“I want to be able to be invisible!” “I call flying!” “Well I want to throw fire out of my hands!” the list could go on forever once my best friends and cousins would start to pretend we have powers. We’d start out only allowing people one power… well… maybe two… or three, okay fine, go ahead and have ten! No one could keep it straight! We’d all just end up having the power to do anything, which wasn't exactly fair, but made everyone somewhat happy in the end. But I can’t help but think what would have happened if one—or all—of us actually had those powers? Would we wreck havoc? Or just act silly.
I also what it would really be like to have the power of… oh, let’s say, reading peoples minds. Maybe I would be named a super hero for finding out who was going to assassinate the president before the actual event? Or I could also be the savior of every girl in high school, telling them when their crush likes them back or whether or not a boy is going to cheat on them. I could also get in a whole lot of trouble that way. Teachers could blame me for cheating on the tests because I would know the answers to the questions before anyone else! People probably wouldn’t trust me to leave them alone, because I wouldn’t be able to help the fact that I could tell what they were thinking. I’d be eavesdropping every second of the day!
