When I woke up the next morning it was sunny and bright. "Wow....how long was I asleep?" I got up and went outside, where everyone was hanging out. "Hey Bella!" Kagome called. I sat down next to her. "How'd you sleep?" Sango asked, comming over. "Great, thanks. Do either of you know what time it is?" "I'd say about 1PM." Kagome said. "One! Why didn't anyone wake me up?" I cried. "Well, we knew that you were up really late last night, so we let you sleep. Actually, it was InuYasha's idea." I snorted. Over to out right, InuYasha and Shippo were fighting, and Miroku was trying to stop them, even though he kept agreeing with Shippo. "No, really!....Well, actually, he said that if we woke her up, she'd be really cranky and it wouldn't be worth her being awake. ....But we knew that he just wanted you to get some sleep." I snorted again. "Well, I guess I better get some training in then." I said, and began walking to the Well. I'd just got there when InuYasha came from behind me. Neither of us said anything, though. We just looked at each other. Finally I couldn't take it anymore. "....hey..." I whispered. "Uh....hi..." he replied. Suddenly, without really thinking, I made a Dark Orb and shot it at him. "Think fast!" I shouted. InuYasha just barely dodged it. After that it seemed like everything was back to normal. "InuYasha, check this out!" I said, and walked over to the Well and sat on the edge. Then I wrapped my legs on the rim and let my body fall into the Well. I started doing sit-ups. "Whatda think?" I asked. He nodded. "Not bad." He said. Afterwords, we trained the way we usually did, but without so much yelling. One day turned into two, then four, then before we knew it, it was seven. That whole time, InuYasha didn't exactly encourage me, but didn't yell so much either. (Except for the one time I pounced on him from up in a tree. Boy, did I scare him! ^-^) I was getting to be a really good fighter, and the six of us became really close. Even me and InuYasha, which I'd've never thought possible.
"Guys, could I talk to you?" InuYasha asked. Everyone was in Kaede's hut except me, who was out getting firewood. "Sure InuYasha. What is it?" Kagome asked. "Well....I don't want to train Bella anymore." "WHAT?!?!?" yelled Sango. "But I thought that she was getting good." Miroku added. "Yeah, and she hasn't complilned ONCE the whole time!" Shippo told InuYasha. "Its just....we were doing fine without her, right?" Kagome looked like she wanted to slap him. "you mean you don't want her to come with us? After all this TIME?!?!" InuYasha shook his head. "At first thats what I thought. At the beginning she was a hyperactive, hot-headed little kid. But then.....she wasn't so bad anymore. She's our friend now, and I want her to come with us. But...she doesn't need to fight. I can protect her and Kagome." Sango thought for a minute. "Oooooh, I get it," she said, crossing her arms. "You don't want anything to happen to her, do you?" she asked. InuYasha nodded. "Right." But something clicked in his brain after seeing the look Sango was gining him. "Hey, hey, hey! Its not like that! Its just...umm..." "Uh-huh." Sango said. InuYasha glared as everyone seemed to take Sango's side. "Rrrrrrrrr.....SHUT UP! Its not like that! I just don't want to train her anymore!"
"Why?"
I just came in, right after InuYasha said 'I just don't want to train her anymore!'
"Why not?" InuYasha was speechless for a minute, then pulled himself together. "You don't need to fight. I can protect you myself." "Thanks for the offer," I said, sitting down, "but I want to fight. ....Besides, you're supposed to just protect Kagome....." I muttered the last part. InuYasha shook his head. "I don't care. you'll get hurt." I nodded. "Yes, I probably will. So?" "So........" InuYasha could see that he wasn't really getting anywhere. Without a word, he got up and went outside. I looked around. "What wasthatabout?" I asked. Sango and Miroku exchanged a look, but Shippo awnsered my question. "InuYasha doesn't want anything to happen to you." I rolled my eyes. "No, really Bella! Shippo's right!" Kagome said. "Well, I don't need him protecting me, not really. Besides, he's supposed to be protecting YOU." Kagome's face turned red. "Why me?" she asked.
"Well, he likes you, and will always protect you. There's just no room for me."
Silence followed those words. I think Sango could sense how tense the room was getting, so she took the liberty of changing the subject and suggested that we all went to bed.
hehehe...I'm really on a roll today!
