Everyone was asleep but me, and it had to be a least midnight. I couldn't really place WHY I couldn't sleep, but for some reason, I just couldn't. I thought about everything that happened before bed. We cleaned up the fire, and got ready. I couldn't even think of anything that could be worrying me. I looked around. We were close to the forest, too close, I thought. I was waiting for something to burst out. God, I was really spazing, wasn't I? I got up, giving up on sleep. I'd do it later. I walked over to the forest enterance and shone my Light Aura towards it. And of course it made shadows. And OF COURSE it totally freaked me out, especially when I heard an animal barking somewhere. I screamed. Not loud enough to wake everyone up, but definitely too loud. I have my hand on my chest and am breathing deeply when I hear a voice behind me, towards the campground. "Whats the matter?"
I scream again. Suddenly, a hand covers my mouth to silence my scream.
"God, you're loud. Shut up already, nothing's wrong." I exhailed. It was InuYasha. I swiped his hand off my mouth and turned to face him. "Don't SCARE me like that!" I said in a raised whisper, punching him lightly on the shoulder. He snickered. "You get scared awfully easily." I exhailed loudly. "I wasn't THAT loud. How'd you hear me, but nobody else did?" With that question, InuYasha looked away from me. It confused me. "What?" I asked. Finally he looked at me. "I've been awake." he said at last. I nodded. "Alright. So what? Why are you getting so worked up?" I asked him. Once again, he didn't meet my gaze. "I was...thinking." he answered after a minute. I nodded again. "What about?" I tried to be casual, seeing as he wasn't opening up very well with me. This time he didn't answer for a REALLY long time. But, at last, he answered, probably because he realized from my expression that I wasn't going to drop it. "About......um......well....." "You might wanna make sense anytime now." I joked, but he just looked at me sadly. "Don't tell anyone?" he asked, looking really upset now. I nodded. "Well, I was thinking about.....Kagome......and Kikyo.....and......" he didn't continue. I stared at him, my chest burning at Kikyo's name. "And who you're gonna chose..." I said, more to myself then to him. He stared, his face getting red. I looked up at him. Then I quickly put my hands to my mouth. "oops!Sorry!.....please don't hit me." I said, unconcisously inching away, waiting for an attack. He shook hid head. "I'm not going to hit you." I nodded. "Yeah, sure." He glared. "Thats your problem! You never trust ANYONE! You are so sarcastic with me! You're the most annoying person I've ever had the misfourtiune to meet!" I glowered at him. "Yeah, sure. And YOU'RE the most selfish, aggorant, two-timing cheater who can't EVER make up his mind!" My voice was one notch below hysterics. He growled at me, really scary. But he didn't say anything. Instead, he left me where I was. "I. Can't. Stand. You" He said, then ran into the forest. I just stood there, totally dumbfounded. By this time everyone was up. Kagome came over to where I was standing, and looked where I was looking: in the direction that InuYasha went. She looked at me, worried. "
"Bella, what happened?"
