You know, I realized I haven't written in my journal lately... so what the hell. I'll write about my latest "adventure" and that was Father's Day. (My GED isn't that important to any of you... nothing is really... confused ) Where to begin... well... I did more stuff for my dad this year than I did last year and the years after.
Let's see, where should I start... on Channel 11 Eyewitness News, the 7:00 am news, they have "morning salutes".. kinda like shoutouts where you can say Happy Birthday and such.. blah blah. Anyhoo, you get the idea. (I hope..) You send a picture of the person, a message, what the salute is for (birthday, anniversary, etc.) and other information like when you'd like it to be aired and yadda yadda. Then you get an email from the person who runs the joint and you go on from there. I had troubles with my pictures since they were too blurry and/or dark. Finally I got a picture of my dad that was more recent. The "salute" was originally gonna be a birthday salute (since his birthday was May 24th) but by the time I got a picture just right, it was too late to get it aired for his birthday, so I turned it into a belated birthday and fathers day salute. blaugh
I watched it at 7:20 am with my dad (as well as taped it) and after that, Dad read the e-card I had sent to him.
I was sleepy, so I went to bed (I have restless nights..) and then I woke up again at 8pm. I brought him out to dinner. (Read below about the waiter!! mad P smile I didnt realize the bill will be so high (including the tip)... if i paid all of it, it would bounce over on my account and I'd possibly go bankrupt... I didnt want dad to pay anything, but I had him pay the tip, so now i have about 5 dollars, or so, in my account. I feel bad for having him to pay for anything.. it being fathers day and all... I know I sound... pathetic... to mope over something so ridiculus, but that's me. I wanted my dad to have the best fathers day ever... not having to pay for anything and such. He said he had a great time and all... and having to pay for a tip was nothing, really.... but I still feel so bad. I had dad be on the news... I sent him an ecard.... and I brought him out for a very nice dinner.... and I feel so upset. My friend told me that I shouldn't worry too much about it. He had a great time and that's all that matters. I guess she's right. I shouldn't really be so hard on myself. dramallama
Now, onto a few details about the dinner... mostly... the waiter. If you've seen what I looked like, I'm already fat (I have a lot of meat on my bones, I guess I should say...), but the waiter at the dinner seemed to want to fatten me more up. (But it could just be my imagination, although dad agrees with me and thinks its funny... read on domokun ) I feel like I'm in the fairy tale, Hansel and Gretal. Allow me to explain why I say that...
So dad and I went to Olive Garden. I ordered a Fettuccine Alfredo, dad ordered Spagetti and Meat sauce. Now, the waiter was like, some russian/italian dude... but, yeah.. anyway... he asked me what size would I like it. (Kid size, regular, large...) and I didn't know really, so I ordered a regular. When he came back, he gave me a large, telling me that he decided to give me more. I just grinned and beared it. Then I ate it. After we ate, the waiter came back and took the dessert menu that was next to me and put it down in front of me, saying I should get dessert. rolleyes I've been thinking about getting a dessert, but I wasn't too sure. So I got a Black-Tie Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake (or something like that..) He came back, all happy and such (well, they're supposed to, right?) and was like, "Here you go, all nice and tasty just like the picture, yes?" I thanked him and ate most of it (if I ate any more, I'd pop like a balloon, I swear... my stomach was already starting to hurt... I felt like I was gonna barf.) Then we waited for him to come back so I can get the bill. He came back with the bill, with lots of mints (usually its 1 for each customer at the table, so that'll make it 2 mints... but instead he gave us like, 4 or 5) and then I calculated the bill and the tip, and blah blah. (See above) and after I gave him my credit card, he came back with MORE mints. (like, 6 or 7 this time!!! Btw, these mints are those chocolate rectangular mints. They're my favorite mints... but he was kind of.. overdoing it, you know? neutral ) After I paid and such, we got up. Since I didn't eat all of the cheesecake, he kept offering if I wanted it to be in a little box because he had a little box for it and such... I just smiled and said no. He kept asking if I was sure and I declined once again. (Also, before I got the bill and was all stuffed, he asked if I wanted another refill of my Diet Coke.... although it wasn't even done yet!!! :tick smile After a while, we finally left. (Talking about the waiter, of course! whee )
Now, I know he was just being nice and all... but you never know! He could've had a crush on me (although he looked like... 20-30 years older than me... sweatdrop eek ) or he wanted to fatten me up, chop off my head, dip me in BBQ sauce and throw me onto the grill. burning_eyes Either way, that was pretty odd. >_> I'm officially afraid of male waiters. (Okay, not really. sweatdrop ) That's sure something to remember, though. rofl
(Please comment )
But anyway, I can't think of anything more to write about, so bye! heart
