she is so pretty
yet so ugly
She's Kris all day
Kris when she wakes up
Kris when she hangs her laundry
Kris when she sees her boyfriend
Kris when she goes to church

But when she changes into that red dress
Her puppy-dog brown eyes harden
into a maddening black pit
Her auburn hair is ablaze;
its going to choke her
She is no longer Kris
Her name is Jaquelin
In the city, she has no name
She's only the b***h they pay to ********
Jaquelin slips on her heels
She sneaks out, and hears her mother crying
She goes anyway.
after all, this is Jaquelin, not Kris

Kris knows its wrong
Kris fights it
But sometimes Kris has doubts
She doesn't believe she's strong enough
She doesn't want to do it again
But she's upset Jaquelin before
And Jaquelin will kidnap Kris
Sometimes for days

Jaquelin steps out onto the street
Her skimpy red dress
looks like its going to fall off
He six inch black heels
make anyone cringe
she stops at a bar;
Kris is calmer with a drink,
she fights less...or maybe Jaquelin just fights harder
As she walks in
All the newcomers stare
While the regulars just nod
The know about Jaquelin and Kris
They've paid Jaquelin before...

Kris just sits quietly at the back of Jaquelin's mind
waiting to feel the poison Jaquelin puts into herself
after the second drink, Jaquelin tells the bartender
"put it on my tab" but Kris knew that just meant
Jaquelin and the bartender were going to do it later

Jaquelin walks out, not even swaying
She finds her usual street corner
and waits.
eventually, somebody from the bar comes out
and pays her
They go together to a motel
the guy is married, and they both sin
they both commit the act of love; but there is no love

When they are finished, Kris gets up
She drags herself home
Her hair is back to auburn
Her eyes back to that puppy-dog brown
And she changes out of the dress, in the midnight silence
She sleeps all night...
poor kris.
Jaquelin is going to kill her.
