Momentarily looking up after she finished eating, Sudisannah caught the glare from the werewolf, along with the clenched fists, spiked tail fur, and the overall tense posture. At first, she wondered if she had offended him from what she said, yet later found out that the source of his anger was not her- it was thanks to Rijed's own father. As best as his present vocabulary would allow, he failed to fight back the oncoming tears as he explained how despicable his dad was: taking multiple women for himself, devouring other males- even his own sons- to reduce any competition, and even going so far to attack his own mate for defending the young Rijed, who had been spared thus far due to being the runt, which was less of a threat. Pained at hearing what he had to suffer through, Sudisannah moved closer to Rijed while he continued, learning that his mom escaped as far as possible before succumbing to her wounds, prompting her son to do the same when she could go no further.
He fell quiet as he shook his head, and at that point, the young woman gently put her arm around his shoulders as she seated herself by his side, hoping that it would comfort him at least a little in knowing she understood. As much as she didn't want to admit it, she was not only moved to tears by his mother's compassion and dedication to her only son, but was a little jealous herself, for her own mother was capable of throwing Sudisannah under a carriage if it would save her own skin. Yet she pushed those thoughts aside, instead praying to the gods that his mother's spirit was at peace knowing her child was no longer endangered by that ruthless beast. As for that creature, he wasn't mean- as far as the young woman was concerned, he was a downright b*****d, and all she could do was hope he was a rotting corpse by now.
However, he eventually asked about her dad, and upon remembering that she said he was far, he had sighed. There was still the matter of their agreement, and Sudisannah had expected him to reject her request. If it was the consequence she had to pay, then she would face it
Until she and Jahmal had reached the safe house, the two retained their current demeanor befitting their current statuses respectively. However, once they were inside and the place was safeguarded, Narubia removed the band from her eyes, waiting until the cloth on Jahmal's eyes was removed before she immediately ran towards him. Relieved laughter came from both brother and sister as Jahmal, while hugging her, lifted her up from the ground and spun her around a bit before finally lowering her and releasing her from the hug.
Of course, Narubia's joyful expression soon turned serious as she didn't waste time lecturing her brother. "Jahmal Suleiman, how dare you
