“What about Jake?” Jessie interrupted her thoughts. Alexa blinked and turned towards her mother. “Well, do you think I’m not that pretty? Just average?” Alexa looked at her feet sadly. “Oh honey, your very pretty. You know that.” Jessie pulled Alexa up and smiled. “I would even be happy to help you look for a dress today.” Alexa smiled and hugged her mom. The doorbell rang and Alexa ran towards the door. When she opened it a tall man stood before her and handed her a letter. “A letter for Miss,” he looked at the letter and turned back to her, “Miss Alexa Vanderhill.” “That’s me,” she said and took the letter, “Thank you, sir” The man nodded and went off to another house to deliver a message. Alexa opened the envelope and read the message.
Dear Alexa, I wanted to apologize, and I do like you the way you like me. I was the one that got carried away and hoped Madison wouldn’t get so mad at me like before. But now I just realized she doesn’t want you in my life so now I’m asking you instead. So what do you say? Grab your purse and meet me outside? Just look out at your window when you finish this letter. You can guess where we are going tonight! Yours truly, Jake
Alexa smiled at the message and looked out the window, only to see Jake standing there, looking back at her with a bouquet of flowers in his hands. He smiled sweetly and waved. Alexa turned and ran to her room, getting ready to go out. “Where are you going?” Jessie asked with a confused look. Alexa turned to her mother and smiled brightly, already getting on her dress for the dance. “Mom, Jake said hi!” Alexa screamed out proudly. Jessie laughed and waved Alexa off to go finish dressing. When Alexa got her dress on, she got her hot pink high heels and left outside with her purse. Jake smiled and walked over to her with his car keys, unlocking his truck. “Madame, I am pleased you could come,” he said in a French accent and walked her over. *** The dance took place at a large school. How could anyone possibly find his or her classes with the school that big? Inside seemed larger. But it looked majestic, with all the decorations and lights. Everyone was already slow dancing, but Alexa was nervous. After all, this was her first dance with her first crush. Jake smiled at Alexa and held her hand, taking her to the middle of the group of the dancing couples. He looked so nice, his hair brushed back, his eyes so dark and mysterious, the tux so perfectly wore. But wait a minute, this was all going way too fast, so was this a dream, a perfect dream Alexa did not want to go away? Or is this for real? Everything spun around in her head, but she felt so safe with Jake. He pulled her close and started dancing. This was not happening! Alexa hoped everything would go perfect, to not fall apart like in her other dreams. It felt so real though. She almost went mad with everything going so fast. Pulling away, she went to the bench and sat down, her eyes narrowing down at the ground. Everything still on her mind, thinking about what just happened within a matter of days. Jake was being to nice to even think about it, he never used to look at Alexa at all. Now he actually broke up with Madison and started showing affection towards Alexa. How was this even possible? “Alexa, are you alright?” Jake asked interrupting her thoughts again. “It’s nothing, but isn’t this happening so…” Alexa cut herself off. Jake looked puzzled and took her hand again. “I’m sorry if it’s going on so fast,” he said. He looked away and let Alexa’s hand free, and got up form the bench. “No, it’s just like a dream, a perfect dream.” Alexa smiled and heard her favorite song. It was fast, and she was best at them. “This song is just perfect,” Alexa broke out. Jake looked puzzled. “So you like these kind of songs other than slow and easy?” he asked, sounding like he was at the edge of leaving her. “It’s just not my type.” “Well everyone has their differences.” “Maybe, but we may have a lot of differences. So I guess I can sit this one out now? Or maybe I should just dance and break my leg, maybe causing you to pay for it.” Alexa glared at him. How could he be this selfish over something so simple? Was he really like this all the time? Did he always have to have everything his way? He had just turned into a nightmare. Alexa walked towards Madison, who apparently found another boyfriend. She tapped her on the shoulder and pulled her to Jake, with Madison trudging over to him. “Maybe you two just go together, more than I thought you and I would, Jake.” Madison turned away and walked back to her new boyfriend and continued dancing. Alexa left the school, leaving Jake alone and hopeless. Perfect dreams are just mistakes, Alexa thought to herself with a smile.
This was a short story that was done for school. Well the end turned out stupid because I had no more time to think up something longer and more interesting because.. just blame the stupid teacher! Well anyway.. I maybe shouldn't have put it up there but O well. Maybe I would take more time on it and continue the story later and edit the spelling and such! Well thanks for reading you guys!
