Oye Vay, What Now? Ch. 1
I was walking through my back yard when I smelt an acrimonious smell. I turned around, but there was nothing there. I kept walking towards the cliff where I sat and drew the hours away. The wind was arid at this time of the year and the days were long, dreary, and monotonous. I sat on the big rock that sat practically on the edge of the cliff; the rock had a caricature of a wolf howling at the moon that sat on the silk sky. I was lost in my complacency my drawing when Ambrose jumped up onto me and scared me half to death. “Ambrose what have I told about that, this is your spot,” I said as I pointed to a little hole beside me. He looked at me with his big ice storm eyes. “Fine, just until I think of somethin’ else to draw…okay?” I said acquiescly .He lay down across my lap; he was getting a bit to big for this treatment, but he was auspicious to me out of all my friends in the woods. I myself was benevolent to anyone, well pretty much. I was just sitting there with Ambrose on my lap when the corroboration of the acrimonious smell hit Ambrose and mine nostrils. We both jumped up and climbed Windstar’s domicile, which is the big rock I use as my complacency every night and day. Windstar doesn’t mind ever she likes my drawings I give her of her little pups. The smell drew me closer and closer to something that was diminutioning in front of my eyes. The thing seemed to act like a rainbow I could never get close to it, every time I would it would move back and shrink. This thing was a ball of light that was formidable, I wanted to run away but at the same time I wanted to know what on flippin’ earth it was. I was so close to grabbing it when IceShadow jumped into me head first to elucidate not to touch it, I fell to the ground unconscious. I awoke to a beautiful drone, IceShadows’ disapprobation, and Windstars’ assuage over my head. I popped up to run to my spot so I wouldn’t have to hear IceShadows’ dictum for the thousandth time, but the pain in my right side paralyzed. So I sat there staring into IceShadows’ deep blue ice eyes, while stroking his soft black fur. Luckily it wasn’t that as bad as I thought. Just that I shouldn’t get to close to things that were unusual, but he said everything so articulate that I was amused and at the same time bewildered at points. “Now go home Aurora,” IceShadow growled “Yes sir,” I obeyed. I went onto my perch and gathered my art things and stared walking home. “Ambrose,” IceShadow called. Ambrose came trotting up to him. “I want you to walk Aurora home tonight and stay with her. Is that clear?” He instructed. Ambrose nodded. “Ambrose?” I hesitated. He looked at me with he big beautiful eyes. “Why is IceShadow so protective…” Ambrose stopped and looked at me funky. “…Over me?” Ambrose smiled a toothy grin. “Does he feel like I’m part of his pack?” Ambrose nodded his massive head. We kept walking it was quiet except the few nocturnal critters runnin’ about here and there. We finally made it home at about 11p.m. I was exhausted from today. We traveled to my bedroom and fell asleep; at least I know I did.
In the morning I found myself alone in my bedroom. My bedroom was dull, with a few exceptional areas. Those areas were either covered with my art or paw prints. When I say art I mean my art in pencil on the wall. I went down stairs and found my little brother sitting at the table trying to enunciate ‘Croissants’, which was what mom had made this morning before she left for work. “Katelyn, are you down there with Devon?” My dad shouted through the house. “Yes dad, of course I am.” I chimed back. My father came down in full suit and tie. “Where are you going today, huh?” I questioned him. “I need you to edify Devon today while I go to a date.” he smiled an evil grin at me. “What?!?!?!?!?! I don’t-“ I started to protest, “I’m joshing you Kat” he started laughing “That wasn’t funny pops, that was plain out rude,” I proclaimed. “I’m sorry sweetie but it was funny.” “Okay maybe a little bit” I showed the amount by using the ‘G’ in A.S.L. “No, I’m going over to the Bradleys’ for brunch, after I drop off this little munchkin off at your grandmas’ house.”
I was walking back to my little spot when I stumbled over a tree root and fell smack dab in Grimixs’ house. Grimix is a cantankerous old badger who hates me. “You know what missy you are so fractious and frivolous to me. Get out of my sight, NOW!!” Grimix hissed. I was glad to get out as soon as I could. I ran all the way to the howling stone (the big rock on the cliff) I didn’t stop, I couldn’t stop; my feet wouldn’t let me, I felt a blow to my left side. I crippled to the ground, I opened my eyes to Windstars’ beautiful babies licking my face. “Thank you so much you guys.” I told the little pups. They just sat there with their eyes looking at me, waiting for me to do something. The pups had one mark that was the same on all of them it was congenital in all of Windstars’ pups. It was a white blade down the left hind leg, it was unusual for them to have a snow white mark on them they were black wolves. I told Windstar about my accident with old Mr. Grimix. “Ohh, don’t freight about him sweet thing he just begrudges you.” “Why though?” I asked “See he’s not as young as he use to be.” “I understand.” I left her to her nursing the young ones. I climbed up onto my perch and waited, and waited. I drifted off into a fantasy. I awoke with fanaticism, I wanted to run and jump and do whatever I could. It didn’t last very long though; it was interrupted by a fraudulent. “Hi, IceShadow” “Hi, what do you want now?” He asked viciously. “Nothing I wa-“ “Whatever go away and leave me alone” IceShadow never talked like that to me, not even when he was mad at me. I turned and started to walk away when BAM!! I was knocked out again. When I awoke I was lying in Windstars’ home again for the hundredth time. They tried to tell me what had happened but I heard nothing because all the pain I was in.
