Where have I been? What have I been doing? Where have I gone? Wait, I was gone?
Wednesday was opening night for the play!
It went beautifully! I nailed my big long speech. whee I was angry enough that I actually scared poor Lacy, who I was yelling at. I skipped a couple lines I couldn't remember, but I don't think anyone could tell. We were all so perfect~ It couldn't have gone better.
Even though I was told by pretty much every one in the cast that I was talking super fast. x _x We were all talking too fast, but it seems I had a super-human type thing going on with my speed.
I came down with a cold opening night, though. We had a fire drill in the cold that morning, where we had to stand outside freezing for an hour. And then for PE I had to run over a mile in the cold. So I stayed home sick the next day, completely out of it.
But I still went to perform that night! I wasn't quite as good, but I still did well. Everyone in the cast is getting sick. sweatdrop It's pretty horrible.
Last night was our third performance. My grandparents came to see it. <3 We performed pretty well, but behind stage everything was falling apart. Hermia's costume ripped. And I don't mean along the seams in unnoticeable places. The cloth began splitting and her dress nearly fell apart while she was on stage. I felt so sorry for her! But there was nothing we could do. But one of the actors, who sewed together our best costumes, took it home and fixed it today. The dress won't be as pretty, but it only has to hold up to one more performance. And if the dress wasn't bad enough, Oberon's crown was stolen and placed in the audience, one of the techies moved a very important prop to someplace really random, instead of on the prop table like it was supposed to be, and everyone was feeling so ill that everyone pretty much took a nap behind stage.
Tonight is our last performance, though!

I'm gonna do my best tonight. Even though I've been doing the best I can every night, tonight I want to do so well I want to make the audience wish they could see it again!
Did I mention that we've getting getting standing ovations every night? Absolutely everyone that's been able to has been standing up at the end to clap. I didn't even notice the first time, because it still looked like everyone was sitting, until someone pointed out that everyone was standing. whee And we've gotten comments like "I've seen the play before and didn't really understand it, but after seeing it tonight I finally get it!"
I've seen as least three cameras filming the play so far. Two of them were by the same camera with that light so bright it's bothersome on stage, both times with a student. Sop I'm wondering if I'll be able to buy a recording of the play. If so, I'm gonna buy it, and put it on YouTube for you guys to see. <3 And tonight, I'm getting pictures of all the fairies. Our costumes are simply wonderful.
