A lighthouse was in the back ground, nestled between some rocks; its powerful beam slicing through the dreary twilight. Kioshi stood at the edge of a rocky cliff. Bucket-fulls of rain poured on him and shimmered the surface of the ocean miles below him. The droplets drummed on his leather jacket. His wings were folded neat & tightly behind him. Two pure white eyes flared at the hazy dark grey horizon. There was a slight shifting sound behind him.
"Not even a day & you screw things up. You're pathetic..."
Kioshi spun around & took long, swift strides straight for Daemion. Daemion threw him a smug glance as a tightly clenched fist collided into his jaw. The Seraphim stumbled sideways a bit before Kioshi caught him by the colar & straightened him.
"You knew about that mage!" he snarled.
Daemion spat some blood at the ground. "What makes you say that?" he asked matter-of-factly.
"DON'T... tempt me further into slitting your throat..." The angel forced out. It took every inch of him to not slice off his wings & chuck him into the raging waters below. Let alone try to keep his temper from controlling him.
Daemion tugged himself free of Kio's grasp. "That will be interesting to see you try. & what if I knew about the mage?"
Kioshi's glare intensed. He did not have time for this. "Where are they?"
"Your band of hellions? I guess I could find out."
Kio was in his face within the second. "You will."
He stormed past the Seraphim, his muscles & aura pulsing from anger.
Daemion stared at the spot infront of him, as if he was unsure what the say. As Kioshi loosened his wings for flight, he quickly turned sideways & looked at him. "& what good will it do?"
Kioshi was only a few feet away when he turned back around. A dark expression still inhabited his features. "What is that?"
"To find them..." A new light shown on Daemion's face. Something close to friendliness. "Think about it... what good does it do for you to stay with them? They offer you no status and maybe cause more trouble than they're worth. Why not leave them & come back to the Committee. If you admit your sins, then they will accept you back. It will be as it was before."
"I have no sins to admit. I'd rather stay with my "misfit friends", my comrades." the angel put shortly with a calmer tone.
"'Comrades'..." Daemion scoffed at an empty spot in the rain, "I remember when you considered us that..."
Kio stayed silent when his voice trailed off, knowing there was more to be said.
Bitterness shot into Daemion's face. "And what makes this whole betrayal worse is that you befriended those demons after you left. Especially that demoness....
She killed your precious humans that you gave up everything for! She even killed our friends! All as if it were some sick game of the Damned!" he screamed in an exaggerated motion, as if he were pointing to Kakairo. He voice was crescendoing the whole time. A firy hot aura flared around his body. "And YOU... " one stride forward & the Seraphim was a few inches from Kio. "YOU befriended her! Even after seeing her rip people to pieces you befriended that damned b***h! And that demon, a walking massacre waiting to happen. BOTH of them a-"
For the second time, Kio's fist connect with his jaw. The sound echoed off the cliff, This time the Seraphim went sprawling into a mud pubble. Kio loomed over him, his compousre a deadly calm.
"Times change. Get over it." Poison dripped from his words.
Daemion wiped a trail of blood from his chin. "Apparently so...." he said in dark softness. He stumbled to his feet, shook off the blow, & returned the same expression. "Just remember... I gave you a chance."
Kioshi's glare ebbed slightly into confusion. The Seraphim loosened his feathered wings, pure white even after the fall into the mud. "Your precious demons are in sector six."
The angel raised an interested eyebrow, but before he could ask why Daemion shot into the sky with one mighty thrust of his powerful wings. Kioshi stared after him, new questions and concerns ran-sacking his mind.

When being buried alive by sand, its a lot like drowning. Only worse. Instead of one whole body its tiny particles that force itself through every opening possible. It rattles aroundyour eardrum; It clings to open eyes & digs into the sockets. And if you took the slightest of breaths, a wave of sand rushed into your throat. You could feel the dry grinding as the tiny bits clung to the walls of your airway, Slowly filling the lungs & clogging them.
Luichen stratched out his arms, hoping to feel some sort of wall or anything he could cling to. It was like he was being pulled through one helluvah sandstorm. It roared and flew around him in a whirlwind. The sand lashed at his skin like tiny glass shards. And he kept falling; falling & falling as he was pulled through this never-ending dimension.
And all the sudden, the earth spat him out. Luichen felt himself fly into sand-free wind & land on cool green grass with a hard THUD! It was suddenly, and oddly, quit now without the earth trying to bash his head in. Dizzy now, the demon slowly pushed himself to a kneeling position. He hacked out some clumps of dirt that had managed its way down his throat.
The sound of rustling clothes made Luichen suddenly alert. He warily looked out from his sand laden eyelids. He felt a wave of the stuff fall like an avalanche as he opened them. Sotaru was a few feet from Luichen, shaking some loose sand from his pants leg. What was seen of his skin was just caked skin. His clothes had a dusty tan hue.
Luichen sighed & began wiping the sand from his face. Just then, two more thuds sounded behind them. Sotaru looked up blankly at Rem & Kai as Luichen ruffled up a cloud of dirt out of his crimson hair.
Kakairo rolled off of Rem's shoulder & sat up.
"Where are we...?" she asked in a bewildered tone. She was rubbing some sand out of her eyes.
Rem cleared her throat. "It's another dimension."
Kai shot her a "no s**t" look. Her eyes were red from irritation.
"It's something like Kio's Arena," Luichen grumbled over some dusting. "It made by a powerful being, but not big enough to be a work of God."
Kai's cat ears twitched from irritation. "They're trying with us, then."
"Looks like it..."
Rem was looking at the scenary. Old and stalky trees with gnarled branches surrounded their 20-foot-clearing. The bark was a dark grey and the leaves, if not dead, were a dusty green. Little light spilled from the canopy.
"I guess the others got away." Rem stated finally.
Kakairo's eyes shifted to everyone & their surroundings. She surveyed the situation.
"OK... Sotaru & Luichen, you two scout the area to see what we're up against. Keep your eyes open & contact us if you see anyone or anything suspuicious. Me & Rem will see if there's anything to eat & live in."
The guys nodded & disappeared into the treetops. Rem & Kai exchanged the same anxious expressions on their sand-coated faces. They got up & trekked into the woods.
