I had the most wonderful Christmas this year, it was just so much fun! I awoke Christmas morning at my mom's house, then at 6:45 I went over to my dad's house with my sister. My brother, sister in law, and nephew were supposed to show up at 7, but were half an hour late. She my sis and I played chinese checkers while we waited. When they arrived, we all got to the fun and opened our gifts.
heart To begin, the first gift I recieved from my dad was a henna kit, which I love! I love to do henna tattoos, which is an Indian Tradition (As in the country India, not the Native Americans). I started to create the paste right away, but had trouble and my mom had to come help me. I just love it, and later on gave my mom and sister two tattoos each. And this morning, I couldn't help myself! I did two foot tattoos, because they are symbolic in India. Here's a picture for you all:
The purple stuff is a tattoo ink that will wash off, and the orange parts are the actual tattoo that have shown up. As you can see, the black paste is ready to come off, and when you wipe it off, your orange tattoo is left! Isn't it so cool! It will hopefully last me about a week. I'm also plannin one for my boyfriend Kyle, it's a huge Egyptian symbol I'm putting on his back. He doesn't know which pic is it though, so it's a surprise!
heart Next my dad bought me a camera, and it's so nice! It came with a case and memory card, which was so thoughtful of him! I used my camera to take all these pics, so as you can tell, it's of good quality. From my dad, I also recieved some things for my hope chest, which I adore! My dad bought me a set of glasses, a set of thirty to be exact. There are 10 regular sized cups, 10 large cups, and 10 small cups. It was a really nice gift that I enjoyed greatly. Lastly he gave me a movie, it was the FullMetal Alchemist film! Yay! After we opened gifts and had fun, we ate some breakfast and had fun. I gave my dad his gifts, a Raider glow pen, some candles, incenses, a Raider Magnet, and some chip and dip bowls. After the fun at dad's house, we went over to my mom's house to open those gifts. My godmom Dede was there, as well as her daughter (my friend) Marissa. My brother, sister in law and nephew were all there as well, and my mom of course! We did the present opening slowly, so that the magic would last. Kyle even showed up 20 minutes later to join the celebration. I opened my first gift, which was the DVD for the film Titanic. I was so excited, I couldn't believe I could now have my Leo whenever I wanted him! Here's my films I got this year!:
Yay, I was so excited at this point! We slowly passed out gifts, and I got Kyle's gift. He gave me some candy, some lollypops, and a book of Sylvia Browne.
heart I recieved alot of gifts for my hope chest this year, it was quite surprising. I just loved the gifts though, they were so perfectly picked. Just to tell everyone, my future apartment is culture oriented. My living room is oriental, my kitchen is european, my bathroom is African, and my bedroom is Egyptian. So all the things I got this year revolved around this. This is my hope chest filled to the brim with antiques, essentials, and more:
To begin, alot of the awesome stuff I recieved you can't even see because it's at the bottom of my hope chest. This includes an 80 dollar rain chime, an awesome sage blanket from my Aunt, a Panda clock from my mom, and other cool stuff. My mom also gave me some antiques from my grandmother that were asian oriented for my living room.
heart This picture features most of my fragile gifts. I recieved two vases this year, both asian oriented. They very fragile so they had to be wrapped in many layers of bubblewrap. I also recieved a cute cherry blossom ceramic tree, which reminds me of the tree from the movie Mulan.
The next things I got for my hope chest were equally beautiful. I recieved two african animal masks to hang in the bathroom, as well as an african candle. The samme person also gave me an asian candle for the living room. Along with these gifts, I also recieved a picture of Notre Dame for my Kitchen, and a cute little picture of Panda Bears.
If you look at this last picture of my hope chest, I recieved some very beautiful items. First I received an authentic African container for my bathroom that is hand painted with elephants. I also recieved a cute asian bell for the outside of my apartment, which I will use often. And last, was a book from my mother which I will give to my future daughter Mulan someday. It's about her time in China while waiting for adoption. It explains the process of adoption and why the daughters of China are given up for adoption. It's just a beautiful book, I hope it helps Mulan understand better where her origins are:
The rest of my Christmas was fun, as I recieved some clothes. I recieved a few sets of pajamas, a cute black shirt, and a japanese shirt which I took a pic of just for you:
Another special gift this year was not for me, rather, for my mother. I got this for her as a special gift which she adored. I bougth her a photo blanket, which is a blanket that is woven like a photo. Everyone thought it was amazing, so I took apic of it for you. My cat is sitting on my sis's face in the pic, so sorry you can't see the whole thing:
For Christmas, i also recieved some CD's I've been hoping for. I got a Josh Groban CD, which made me so happy because I'm going to his concert in April. I also recieved 2 Celine Dion CD's, which were aweome. I just adore Celine Dion, her voice is amazing!
Lastly, I received 8 books total. I just love to read so it was so great to get books. I'll explain them in a minute:
The first book was Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul 4, which is a series I love! I have read books one and two, and now I have another!!! These books are great to read, and if you haven't tried them, I really recommend them to anyone. The second book is called the 5 People you Meet in Heaven, which I recieved from my sister in law. It is an award winning book about dying and then having 5 people you know tell you how well you lived your life. It sounds very interesting to me! Next is called the Lost Daughter of China, which is about how the sons are more important than daughters in China. It is really an interesting book that I can't wait to read! The next book I got was from my mom, called Raising Adopted Children. It was really nice to get these sentimental books from my mom because she finally realized adopting Mulan from China is what I really want to do with my life. This book is goin to teach me how to raise an adopted child, since it can be a challenge at times. The next book is called Egypt, and is all about my favorite country! I can't wait to learn even more fun facts about this country! Next is a book from my grandma, called the O'Reilly Factor. It's about all kids of issues children face today, and I hope to learn how to deal with life better. The next book is called Ask Cosmo Girl, and it has a lot of personal information. I didn't exactly ask for it, but it was interesting to read at that. The last book is from Kyle, and it is my new Sylvia Browne book. It looks so great, I can't wait to read about Sylvia's physic cases!
heart Well, that was my wonderful Christmas. I had so much fun and really enjoyed the time with my family and friends. I hope everyone had a fun Christmas this year, and I can't wait to enjoy all my gifts.
