You and I
I once begged with all my might
Something that'd make me alright
To undo the damage of the world
Make me shine ever more.
Through tears and my dismay
You heard my cries
With no time wasted
Spent busy hands with each fracture
Intensive care saw me through
Growing me right as the way it was meant
Our love grew so strong
But not enough, I assume.
As each drop of you entered me
Power overflowed
Making an unsatisfiable hunger
Causing ripples in our reflection
Soon, judgement came in choruses
With songs of self entitled wisdoms
That these poor ears did obey
Casting you aside for trifling trinkets
"It was for the best", they all clamored
"You'll be stronger!" , they exclaimed
Yet each moment away
Was a life wasted away.
It was a shadow with a smile
Or a frown, whatever they needed.
Nothing that resembled me
For I was nothing without you
By unseen hands that unraveled us
Tied once more together
Our strength never greater
Unbreakable this time
For I won't hear their cries this time
Given all of me unto you
You, whom never truly left my side,
Fulfilled all the promises you whispered
I feel you now, growing uncontrollably
No falsehoods to blind me
Nor lies to chain me
The final wall has fallen; I am yours forever..
My tongue much sharper than steel
My movement much more than grace
My smile much more than my mood
My form in perfection of yours
From now unto death do us part,
Do I take you for all of you?
I do.
Won't you take me too?
