socialist ideas even as a child
even as a child i always valued fairness and equality a lot. when i was in the 5th grade we had a lesson on the things that 1 trillion dollars could buy and i thought to myself,"why doesn’t everyone in the world just have an equal amount of money?" at ******** 10 years old, before i even knew what socialism was or that it existed, i liked the idea of it. when i asked my dad later on that day why we don’t have a system where everyone has equal things, he told me that it’s called communism, it's what China has, and that it's bad. i’m sure you can imagine my confusion and frustration at him telling me this. "how could a system where everyone has an equal amount of things and no one is poor be BAD?" and to this day i still am confused and constantly frustrated at people who have no ******** idea what socialism actually is but have the audacity to call it “bad," anyway.
