"Do you understand what you're saying?! All of them, the humans, the demons... hell, even the various celestials! All of them! You would literally make everything that exists your enemy- for what?!" The voice that flew, rather energetically, from the phone was almost screaming. The words would have made anyone else believe the speaker to be insane, catastrophically so. "Really? All of them?" "All of them! Just give the girl up, and they wont hold any of this against you, even now!" "All of them...." the... man?, thing?, muttered, a grin crawling on to his, its, face. He, It, sat on a rather expensive, and luxurious, looking sofa. The girl in question, a slight thing of barely seventeen, was unconcious and using his, its, leg as a pillow. He looked like a man. He talked, stood, moved and sounded like a man. Because the weak would believe in the man. He looked like a demon. He talked, stood, moved and sounded like one who possessed overwhelming power. Because those with power could know of the monster. He looked like a God. He talked, stood, moved and sounded like one who could make all kneel in submission. Because those who stood against him fell. This creature, this being who made the strongest bow, looked at the slight, broken, creature he'd been sent to destroy. She looked scared, weak, as though a gust of air could render her into nothing. She had been empty when he'd found her- the shell of a being. Dirty, broken and uncaring whether she lived, or died. Maybe she had even preferred to die. Gently, so gently that a bubble would nary notice even the brush of air, he moved the lock of hair that had draped over her face. "... I take it then I must kill you all?" "..." The silence on the other end spoke volumes. The fear dripped from the silence. "Lets see. Often times Ive heard that the weakest bark the loudest. I doubt any would say that here, however let us reiterate. Your... leaders.... sent me after a beast. I killed the beast." The breathing on the other end of the phone was shallow. The creature could picture the sweating face of his connection to the self-important mortals, so bound by their desires and corruptions, the sins they masked as saints. "You then sent me after a demon, neglecting to mention several things- which after I would've thought that the lesson had been learnt, but you are after all the same beings that, no matter the mythology, have a habit of doing what is the least in your interest." The silence of his conversation partner proved that either he knew the risks of speaking, or that he'd just died of heart failure. Either way, the ones who were to receive the message would hear what he spoke. "Finally, you sent me after a God." He paused for dramatic effect, and to drive the point home. "A now dead God." "Now, you self-serving, uncultured, pretentious swine." he began in a friendly tone. "I welcome your pathetic attempts to kill me, so come. Let your pathetic Deities dash themselves away, the Demonic hordes spend themselves dry. You pathetic, puffed up golems, imperfect as you are, come against me with all your 'science' and 'magic' has to offer. If you wish it, I will render you to as dust, as I have done to the countless others who were far more deserving of such a blessing. Know, however, that if a society makes me its enemy, I destroy them, down to the very seed of their families. If a race, I will obliterate it as though it had never existed. You say the Gods will fight me- I say they already fallen. You say the demons will fight me, I say they've already submit. Now you, children of Icarus, take your time to choose: fly away, or fall."
