If I'm going to write about my time as the Guardian, I should wright about events that happened before I stepped into that possition... well... I started going to that village because one of my four guardian angels, Scintar (he prefers to be called Scinto), took me there while the village was under attack by dark elves and demons (I am NOT promoting any stereotypes here; I actually have a lot of dark elf friends... I'll explain that later).
As I found out, our village was at war with a city of dark elves. The wood elves were constantly on the defensive, as leaving the forest would give us a major dissadvantage. And the demons? Well, they were more likely looking for me.
But anyway, I went to the king and offered to become the guardian of the forest and the elves. Story over... NOT. Ha. These were times of war--no one could trust a random stranger who basically devotes his life to you. Ha. He said that he couldn't control whether or not I join the battle, but that I would not have a home there. When I told the elves that Scinto brought me there... it didn't help much. Apparently they've known Scinto for a long time, and they don't like him because he bosses them around (but what can you do about an angel giving the archers orders during a battle?) (which reminds me, I should explain that Scinto is an excellent archer, and was the orriginal holder of my magic bow). Things did brighten up, however, when the king found out about my angel dragon, Darin...
Or so it seemed at the time. He accepted me as his servant and started drilling me about draconic and elven magic fused together (basically dragon-rider magic). Once he was satisfied, he demanded that I negotiate a relationship between the wood elves and the Dragon Kingdom.
At first this seemed like a good idea, but then I had to think about it... The elves of my village care nothing for the dragons--they were just greedy for the magic. I looked at various futures (dragons being enslaved, war breaking out between dragon riders, etc.) and decided to tell the king it was too dangerous. I expected him to banish me... but then he said "Stay in my service, for now I know you are wise." To this day, I still don't know whether or not he was just testing me the whole time.
And so I was accepted into the village... That's all I'll write for now. I'll explain more about my rise to power later.
