In this magnificent location, there are cities of all types, connected to the center of Raygate - Central City. This is the heart of all of Raygate, and is often the source of all of the commotion. There has been a breakthrough in science as of recent, and it has caused quite the stir in the community. The government's been able to keep it under wraps for a while, though, peoples' lips move faster than the government's fingers are able to pinch them shut. The word gets out about individuals with absurd capabilities - inhuman, almost. They are regarded to as "freaks" and "monsters" feared with the ignorance of the people.
The exact reasons why these powers came about seem to be a mystery to certain scientists, though, they can attribute to the fact that these abilities are most certainly real and valid. Individuals with such traits and reported to have the abilities are often taken in as subjects to undergo vigorous testing. Individuals are most commonly ridiculed and harassed upon discovery that they are "genetically enhanced", as the scientists refer to it. Individuals are corrupted with hate, obscured by the animosity all of the cities forward to these special people and are often lead to display their rage and anger by taking it out on the cities. By causing mass chaos.
Some of them, however, are able to keep it under wraps. Furthermore, they are able to conceal their identities as citizens and even go so far as to portray themselves as a superhero - if you will. They go out, fighting crime and saving the city from unstoppable events. Sometimes they work together, sometimes they work alone. What's interesting is that they're not your cliche businessman or newspaper reporter: they are students in high school.
Nine students attending Oracle Preparatory are these unidentifiable superheros. They are revered by the city when it is best convenient for their safety, but otherwise are seen as reckless vigilantes, having nothing better to do with their time. It is unknown to those around them - fellow students or even supers - how they attained their powers [or if they have any at all], and they live their lives as if they were just any other, ordinary student of Oracle Prep, in Gilded Province. They are all in their Junior Year of high school, and are balancing their personal lives with their superhero responsibilities.
They are the guardians of Raygate - they are the Oracle Protectors.
