The world is filled with people. People are filled with influences. Influences are filled with options. Options can be either beneficial or deleterious. Consequently, people can either be good or bad, stemming off of the influences around them, and the options or choices they make in life. People are inherently neutral, and it is only up to chance whether they prove their worth to the world in their lifetime.
People are always progressing. Progression stems from technology. Technology is always expanding and providing new connections between people. People, as an entirety, are capable of doing more things than they can fathom. It is their perseverance and discipline which keeps their world from falling apart. To ensure the safety of themselves, they must ensure the safety of others.
Raygate. A metropolis with buildings that glimmer in the glory of the sun, islands of cities connected by bridges and tunnels, separated by rivers and estuaries. The air is filled with the noise of auto vehicles, birds traversing, and the smell of a superiority hard at work. Plumes of smoke sprout upwards sporadically about the large city, showing that it is not afraid to be an industrial power. And a self-serving one, at that. The city is cramped with buildings in certain areas, while large skyscrapers settle around the center of the city. The windows appear spotless and shine with such gloss that it entices the many visitors who inhabit this city.
This city was established quite a while ago. No one truly knows when it was officially a city, but the earliest documentation shows around the late eighteen hundreds. It's had its fair share of renovations and resizing and expansions, but it has still remained such a magnificence in all of its time.
The greatest of individuals reside within the boundaries of Raygate. Scientists, businessmen - all forms of successful individuals are pervasive in the society, proving that it not only is staying on top of it's game, but it is doing very well for a self-dependent, industrial capital. Granted, Raygate is most often the first in line for discovering new things: inventions, innovations, scientific breakthroughs - all courtesy of Raygate's great minds.
While the city is immensely large, it is not the capital of its nation. It is neighbored by the Antediluvian - a desert adorned with a rather run-down and obsolete city, connected by the Eastern Mountain passage - and the Ilvaite Sea surrounding the rest. This is the commerce hot spot in all of Remmark, the nation in which this city is located. This story takes place within all of Raygate, whose motto is "Providing for today and the future."
