Don't Kiss Goodbye...

A faltered step too soon has found
Me torn in half, gagged and bound
The words I needed were lost at war
It never comes out right
Fragmented interpretations lock the door
Farewell I'm consumed by this fight
She stabbed me so gently
But her blade was her heart so it will never harm me

I broke her with a last reply
She shouldn't have read it
I shouldn't have said it
I torture her so and I don't know why
She does nothing but dread it
I can do nothing but resent it

Lies are never told with good intention
there merely meant to cover ones ambition
My only mistake was that I accounted for less
when there was far more at play
In trying to cause an adversary distress
I caused my one love her dismay
Now I hope she'll still stab me gently
That blade of grace that could never harm me

I wallow in the shadow of regret
I wish I could make her forget
To kiss away the tears that were my fault alone
To bring closure to this space between
Two hearts that were once strongly bound as one
I hope I didn't tear it along the seam
Once again I wish to be stabbed gently
