Oh..my god! I thought I almost cried! I read a story...a Sesshoumaru Kagome pairing and it was so tragic at the end! Kagome wished on the jewel that Inuyasha went with Kikyou......and she went back to her own time. But she reads tales in her own time of a miko who does a deed in the north. And so Kagome goes back and meets Sesshoumaru after fifty years for him....about 6 years for her. She gives him hope after he has lost Rin and he has revenge on her murderers and wins the war and reclaims his throne...but he feels obligated to repay Kagome. So the next time she comes he accompanies her on her journey to help a hime get medicine to bear a hanyou child. The child of Kouga's son. They form a bond as the journey goes. But when Kagome is about to leave she asks Sesshoumaru what her scent is since he says things like purple on orange and sunshine on waterfalls. She thinks he smells like thunderstorms. But he says 'I'll tell you when you return.' And so in her own time Kagome desperately searches for a story that gives her a reason to return...she finds herself missing Sesshoumar, and he her even though he has a hard time admitting it. When she does finally find a story where she supposedly kills an evil sorceress madoushi or such, she immedietely seeks out Sesshoumaru when she gets back into the past. When she gets there all his sevents and allies hate her and think she will make him weak like Rin. So Sesshoumaru says he will go with her on her travels, even though she tells him he's not obligated. But he does this out of something more than obligation. As they go to the miko to seek training and combat from a drunken samurai, Sesshoumaru and Kagome grow quite intimate although Sesshoumaru claims she is just a whim and pleasure for his amusement. They never sleep together...but when Kagome finally completes her training and learns how to seal a god in order to defeat the evil sorceress, she has to say goodbye to Sesshoumaru because she knows she will most likely die. When they say their goodbyes, all she does is ask him what she smells like and he tells her 'the morning. you smell like the morning to me.' And then they part. While she meets the sorceresss and the god she fights it and is about to die and lose when Sesshoumaru comes and saves her. But while she is distracted readying her bow to purify or seal it, the Madoushi embedds a dagger in her neck as she fires the arrow. The arrow does destroy the god, almost Sesshoumaru in the process. And just as Sesshoumaru is relieved, he smells her blood and sees her fall down with the dagger in her neck. The soreceress is still alive and powerful, but Sesshoumaru only notices that Kagome is dead but he can't seem to accept it. He keep standing there waiting for her to sit up. Meanwhile, Kagome finds herself in a place where Inuyasha, Sanga, and Miroku are waiting for her. They ask her if she is going to go with them. But Kagome notices they are different and there is no Kirara or Shippou. And she calls out to Sesshoumaru and says she wants to wait and look for him. For some reason Inuyasha seems to be happy about this and then Kagome finds herself facing Kikyou alone. Kikyou tells Kagome that the villagers see her has the evil Madoushi, and that's when Kagome finds out she is dead. And Kikyou says there is a choice but it is not hers, but his. Sesshoumaru's. But neither ending is good. Either Sesshoumaru leaves and Kagome remains dead forever, or he revives her with Tenseiga and the sorceress seals him up in a shrine for eternity. Sesshoumaru ends up reviving her, and the split second before the sorceress puts the seal on him she tells him 'I'll find you.' And then as she sees Sesshoumaru slowly fall, paralyzed she tries to reach him, but the villagers drag her away while she screams and she passes out. Kagome awakes and the real evil Madoushi tells her that she will not kill Kagome for revenge but do something that will be worse. She verifies what Kikyou has told Kagome, and the villagers carry Kagome to the well, silently. But then she sees Sesshoumaru still kneeling in the dirt outside the village paralyzed, half sealed but two powerful to be completely contained. And she vows to find him in her own time. She doesn't speak a sound until she is thrown down the well and yells louder then ever. And that's the end. There is no happy ending. I swear I almost burst into tears. It's called Tales from the House of the Moon . At fanfiction.net. That's all I have to say...I had to get it out.
