Okay, I got this started kinda (ie REALLY) late, but better it occurs than not, right?
Talon: Considering the type of stuff you write up here, it's probably better never than late.
Anyway, today's topic, chosen randomly by the not-so-random-randomizer-machine is...
Gaming.
Gaming entails videogames, minirature games, and role-playing. Sorry boardgame players, but you don't count under the 'gamers' section, at least not by my clock. And those of you who claim to be videogamers because you played ONE game? Not so much. But anyway, that's not the point...
Gaming has been a viable source for those of us with no real lives, or those of us who do not wish to have a real life. Now, while that may sound bad, consider it. Across the internet, people can't assault you. Across a game table, the most that will be flying are magic missiles (not too many people take games THAT seriously). It builds vocabulary, strategical planning, literary senses and the like, so why is it so looked down upon by so many? (I know the answer. I'm appealing to a less cynical purpose for now)
But then again, it may be a good thing that we are so shunned. I mean, look at what interbreeding created. The n00b, that's what. Nobody likes a n00b, except for other n00bs, and idiots. And, while they can be trained to be literate, upstanding members of online society, it takes some willingness on their part, and most don't have that. They simply assume they are perfect and won't listen to anyone. (If you or someone you know is a n00b I encourage you to go searching for an adoptive parent and get the literacy today! blaugh )
Another problem: elitists, those that assume they are better than everyone else (in that case, why are they here anyway?). I find them harder to ignore than n00bs...
And then there are evangelists, telling us the internet is the devil and we must quit now and gain Christ before we all die. A lot of people here aren't Christians anyway. Leave 'em alone. Those who are are secure enough in their personality and religion to know God's not gonna strike them down for roleplaying. What if we role-played Jesus' life? Would that make it good or evil?
Well, there's my random nothingness for today. I know I've simply brought up points that everyone's been through, but I couldn't think of much. Maybe if you tune in tommorow night I'll have something better.
Project: It's true, though. You can't deny that.
That means little. Restating a problem won't fix it.
Project: Neither will being rude.
Well, what do you suggest?
