I was reading over old letters today...between me and my husband.
As I read them, I found myself smiling. I try to focus so much now on my hatred, that I have forgotten why we fell in love in the first place. Reading these letters, I remember.
But as I finish, my heart is broken all over again. I cannot believe that such a sweet person could have become such a monster. Nothing can explain it. I just don't understand. What happened to him?
I feel like I have lost something so precious. It is like the one I love has died. Except he will never truly leave. He visits me in the guise of a terrible monster in my every waking moment.
