a little back round on this poem it was written for my father on 12/26/08 but i never did give him a copy during that time i was very depressed and looking for a place to trun and well i turned to my own heart for guidance

Two years ago, she had no clue I already knew
So she told me who you were back then
I can see who you are now

The way you used to be is still the way you are
You haven't changed a bit
You still don't stand up for your own mistakes

I know you still don't get it
Every time I reach out you turn and walk away
You act as if I were a stranger
When really I am your daughter

To the world I'm a daughter with no father, destined to fail
To the world I'm illegitimate
To you I’m a haunting memory
To my mom I'm a blessing

You don't know how much you're missing
You act is if I weren't good enough
But how would you know if you don't try?

How can you keep looking the other way
Do I have to stand in front of you
Just to make you see how much I need you

Or are you scared that I'll hate you
Are you afraid I don't care
If I didn't care would I have written this?

You are my father
I am a part of you
Just like you are a part of me

You were my missing link
I felt as though you were lost
But now I am whole

I guess you'll never care
For all I am to you is a haunting memory
Haunting you to your end

You don't know what you're missing
You don't really care
You don't see me as your own

I am you flesh and blood
But still you push me away
Farther and Farther away from your heart

Never remembered always forgotten
Just a haunting memory of the past
Here today and gone tomorrow

Just a whisper in the wind
Here and then gone again
