Is he really the one she wanted? Did she really think she had a chance with him?

She didn't think so. Even if he had been her best friend since they were little. One by one she watched as he had girlfriend after girlfriend. None worked but even so she had a pain in her heart.She didn't want him to get hurt. He didn't see her as girlfriend material. Just a best friend. Someone he could look up to. Someone to make him feel better.

She promised herself that the next time he got a girl, she would find a new boy to love. Soon after he got a girl. She searched around school but no one seemed to catch her eye.

Then unexpectedly a new boy came up to her. He wanted to be her boyfriend. He promised he wouldn't hurt her. She smiled and just knew he was telling the truth.

The next day they were going out. He would meet her at her locker and walk her to class.

Her best friend heard this and confronted her. He asked why she was going out with him. She smiled and told him that she was not his responsibility. He had his own girl to care for.

She smiled at someone behind him. He turned to find her boyfriend standing there. He nodded in acknowledgment.

Her boyfriend smiled at her and nodded back as he grabbed her boy the hips and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

She looked at her best friend and said...

"I'm happy"

Those two words changed everything.

He made sure that her boyfriend knew that if he ever hurt her, he would have to deal with him.
