strange how old memories come soaring back
shouldn't insomnia take care of that?
what's happened to the numbness that's been controlling me?
and yet fate is still so inclined to my mortality
and y have my eyes been so widely opened without my permission
to finally have vision
is disturbing; a shock back to life
when going so long without it, had put a limp in my stride
so unsure of the future and even of the recent past
i wonder how long this new alertness will last
but i'll take it and hold on as long as i can
and when i slowly slip and fall into uncharted lands
that make up from sanity
don't try to find me
cuz that's where i'm most at home
inside my lil box of foam
which may be partial of my horrifics
so i'll shy away from the specifics
cuz i don't know where i've been
just recently realizing where i am
again i'll have to wonder how long this will last
until i lull into the distant past
my safety blanket of solitude
reflection of my attitude
