Chapter 3- Trouble At School
Seo walked through the doors of the school into the empty hallway still thinking about what the mysterious voice had said. Classes had started...he was going to get in trouble. Seo continued walking by instinct to the class he was supposed to be at. He was so preoccupied in his thoughts, he failed to notice the student walking in front of him. Seo collided with the other student, and both of their things scattered across the floor. Seo quickly apologized and looked at the other student. He was a little taller than Seo...he had flat black hair and wore oval glasses over his eyes. His eyes were wide and his faced looked a little silly as he apologized to Seo. The two then bent down to pick up their things.
Seo had been wearing a backpack, so most of his things were fine. He had only dropped a notebook, and his blue pebble. Seo picked up the notebook and reached for the pebble but stopped. There was an air of tension in the area. Seo looked to the side and looked at the other student. He suddenly looked very tense compared to the carefree guy he'd been a second ago. He seemed to be glaring at Seo..and it made him uncomfortable. Seo picked up the pebble..careful to use his right hand and slipped it into his right pocket. "Err..I'm sorry once again for walking into you. I wasn't watching where I was going." Seo said once more. The student did not reply. He glared at Seo and slowly walked away. Seo watched him bewildered as he walked away. "Hmph...Freak..." Seo thought.
He looked at his watch again. "s**t...I'm gonna be really late..." Seo walked a little faster to his class. When he arrived at the door he realized it was locked. "That's right...they lock them when classes are in session..." Seo thought. He figured he should knock and go in..rather than stay out and get in more trouble than he's already in. Seo raised his hand to the door and knocked, quietly, once. The door was jerked open and Seo slowly looked up to see the professor looking down at him. "Umm...Good morning, Mr. K..." Seo said. Mr. K glared at Seo some more and indicated for him to take his seat. Seo slowly walked over and sank down at his desk. He could feel the mocking stares of the others. He put his head down and pretended he was anywhere but there...
Seo was daydreaming about the pebble...that stone..the power he'd felt. It felt good.."The girl said I can use the power at will with the will of a hero...whatever the Hell THAT is..." Seo thought."You will learn." It was the voice! Seo jumped up out of his chair. "WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!" Seo yelled out loud. The voice was silent..and Seo realized what he'd just done. Seo looked around as some kids were cracking up and others, he could tell, were feeling sorry for him..like he was some kind of crazy nutter! Mr. K glared at Seo. "Seo!" he yelled. "Er..yes professor?" Seo stammered. "Principals office. NOW." he said sternly. Seo sighed. "Yes sir...."
Seo stopped at the door to the office. This was the third time he'd been here this year. He'd be in trouble...especially if Mr. K had told the principal what he'd done this time. He felt so stupid. Seo knocked twice. There was no answer. Seo knocked again, quietly. He slowly felt happiness fill him. "What if he's not here today? What if I get off the hook? What if they just think I'm crazy!" Seo thought. Seo's happy thoughts were quickly replaced with dread as he heard the doorknob turn. On the other side of the door was Principal Franklin, in all his dread. "Ugh...Seo..." he muttered. "Yeah, good to see you too, Frank.." Seo replied. The principal grabbed him by his ear and pulled him into the office, shutting the door behind him. "Ow.Ow.Ow.Ow.Ow..Dude! Cut it out!" Seo whined. Principal Franklin dropped Seo onto the floor. Seo groaned. "I thought you were supposed to be NICE to kids, Frank..." Seo muttered. Franklin sat down at his desk, and motioned for Seo to sit across from him. Seo sat down. "Now, I'm gonna level with ya' Frank, I didn't do ANYTHING!" Seo said. "Really now?" Franklin replied, "I hear from Mr.K you're screaming for no reason in the middle of a lesson." Seo's spirit was crushed. Mr.K HAD told him. Seo thought fast. "Er..I DID Have a reason!" Seo said with confidence. Principal Franklin raised his eyebrow. "Oh really? You have a reason for yelling 'Where the hell are you' in my school?" Seo gulped. "Er..yeah!" Principal Franklin sighed. "Let's hear it then..."
Seo stood up and prepared for his play. Seo begins to spin a tale of how he'd been diligently going to school when some bully knocked into him and beat him up and he wanted revenge during class and THATS why he yelled. Principal Franklin scoffed. "Bullshit, Seo. I happen to know the boy you described." Franklin went under his desk and came up with a folder. He slapped it open in front of Seo and pointed out a picture of the exact kid that had bumped Seo. "His name is Echin. He's an honor student and would never hurt ANYONE." Seo groaned. "Why did I have to bump into an HONOR STUDENT?" Seo thought. Principal Franklin stood up. "Seo...I don't like you..but I'm going to give you another chance. I want you to leave. And tomorrow, I want you to come in on time and do all your work. If you can't do that for me...you're expelled." Seo's eyes widened. "EXPELLED?!" He blurted out. Franklin nodded. "I can't have you keep causing all of these big disruptions..and along with the ridiculous lies you tell me as excuses...this is your last chance, Seo. Don't screw it up." Seo nodded and gulped. Principal Franklin indicated the door and Seo left, beating himself up inside for the idiotic mistakes he'd made.
