Rein's Rant: Internet Slang |

I have a few things that I wish to rant about. First of all, theres the arenas. I cannot explain the utter dusgust that I feel when I see someone using "Internet slang" in a title or a description, even comments. I think it's unintelligent and it just shows how bat these coming generations are going to be. Sure, I make spelling errors from time to time, but i dont tlk lke ths. USE YOUR VOWELS. They're in the alphabet for a reason, you know, and that reason is so that they CAN BE USED to type properly. If you're typing up a college paper, I'm sure you wouldn't use "internet slang" so why use it in a place where everyone in the world can see it? Hm? I has no meaning, what so ever. Maybe some people think that they are getting their point across using "internet slang" but it leads me to conclude a few things about the people using it. Here are those few things:
1. You obviously are not an intelligent person. 2. If you were intelligent, you would realize how stupid "internet slang" makes you look. 3. You are obviously too lazy to type out complete sentences and/or words. 4. You're an idiot who is just trying to fit in to the crowd instead of following your own path. Trust me, if everyone were the same, life would not be interesting.
This is what I interpret from "internet slang." I do believe that the majority of "internet slang" users are teenagers. This just makes it worse though. I mean, if they can't type now, what about later? What about their future? Well, then again, if they want to look stupid, then by all means, look stupid, and hopefully I can live somwhere where there are people who actually want to advance, not decline and stoop down to a level beyond stupidity.
My whole rant is actually quite odd, since I don't usually rant about things that I don't like. So this is definitely different from my norm.
Oh, and sure, I use "internet slang faces" (e.g. XD XP X3 =3 D=< ...etc.) And that really isn't much different; however, I know how to type complete sentences, and aside from the faces, I don't use "internet slang" a whole lot. Any one of my friends could tell you that. It's very rare to see me using internet slang. I would never say this sentence besides an example of what I absolutely despise:
You can't even spell right, so why should I? U cnt evn spll rght so why shud i
I don't know what you're talking about. i dont no wut ur tlkin bout
Did you hear that Mr. Smith stole a car last Saturday? He got caught. did u here dat mr smith stol a car lst satrday he got cot.
The slang may make sentences shorter but they are not in any way, shape, or form correct. No capitilization, no punctuation; it's just a whole bunch of run-on sentences. I'm not even sure if the people who use it all the time even know what a run-on sentence is. If you do know the difference, you should definitely avoid internet slang. Besides, if you don't use it much (or at all), your vocabulary would surely increase becauae you are choosing to have better typing and spelling skills.
That's all I have to say for now. I'm sorry this rant took so long. It took me longer to type it up than it did for anyone who reads this. I really hope that there are people out there who agree with me. I already know there are, and I'm positive that there are also people out there in the world that do not, and will never agree iwith me about this. Oh well. That's just how life is, no?
