It's weird to see how such good friends can change over time. I remember back in seventh grade, when my little group first came into existance. I remember the more-often-then-not depressed girl who was really fun to be with once she was comfortable, the slightly-odd-but-not-quite-crazy girl who came up with all these ideas for skits in Spanish class, not to mention interesting lunchtime conversations, and the normal girl whom I'd met previously at a party, and hung out with us. Then there was me. Or who I thought was me. It's sometimes hard to look back on yourself and others, being faced with just how much is changed over the years. I can even mark the beginning of the rift.
It started when two of us were sent to a different school. Then one of the two became homeschooled. In anycase she would be at a different high school as well. Then the first girl turned dark, scarily dark, and hung out with people who were...well..not the best, although she kept her head and wits. The second is still the same I have to say. I know she's changed, but nothing radical. The third recently moved across the country, and I've managed to keep in touch with her, since she really helped me out of whatever phase I was in.
While I miss our group, I cant help but feel the rifts have grown too far with the one girl. She never calls, answers invitations to parties, at least not mine. She's in a different setting now, and as much as it stings, I'm certain she's forgotten all the crazy things we've done, be it at slumberparties were we never slept, that one vacation she went with me on, or even getting drenched in Dr. Pepper in the bed of my dad's pickup. (Dont ask, it's a long and strange story.)
I know the slightly crazy one will be my friend for ever, after all, she IS my best friend. And I've acquired new friends I'm sure will be there for a while, but still, change is hard to face...

Man, that Dr. Pepper incident was the funniest thing ever! :laughs a little somberly: I miss those days. :sighs:
You and I will be friends for ever, of course! I know what it's like to face the change, though. It's hard, but we'll tough it out, right?
