~ Prologue ~
Rain beat down on the buildings and the roads, making a small river of water flow down the streets of the small town of Beurudosh in the country of Germany. The storm became worse in the last hours of the evening and it seemed that it would never end. No one were stupid enough to be in the storm at the time and so everyone in the town was in their houses. At least there was one other that roamed the streets.
In one of the dark alleyways, out onto the streets with the water itself, blood flowed. Dark crimson blood, fresh blood, lead to a figure that sat crumpled in a ball on the cold wet pavement, sobbing and shivering, her tears coming down her pale and distorted face. Bruises were placed on her face, shoulders, knees, and arms, with scratches, that seemed to come from a surgeon's scapel, placed on her cheek and chest, wrists, and ankles. Her clothes were soaked and ripped, like a man had got ahold of her shirt and tried to pull her back and she escaped.
Her blonde hair was damp and dirty and it was messed up around her face. She could not move and her vision seemed to have blurred. The young girl tried to lift her head as she heard footsteps coming up the street and into the alleyway.
She heard the male voice gasp out her name.
" Anna! "
The young male teenager ran over to her side and kneeled beside her and lifted her off the ground, gently, his red hair lingering over her face. She focused her gaze onto her friend and wimpered, " Mari...how's it going...?"
Marius only sighed and shook his head as tears fell down his face. " Don't act like that, Anna...this has to stop...your father has to stop abusing you like this... "
He could see that Anna was having a hard time to smile. He stroked her tangled curly, was once golden and bright blonde hair, but now muddy and well unkept. Anna didn't jerk or wince when Mari found a tangle and started to pull through it. It seemed that little by little life had escaped her body.
Fightning every urge to brake down, Mari put his other hand under her bloody legs and his free hand under her back and gently lifted her limp and tiny body off the ground. Anna didn't have the strength to lift her arms and put them around his neck for support, so Marius did that for her.
" Come on, your coming home vith me... mein shantz..." Marius said as strongly as he could, looking into her lifless blue eyes, and like her hair they were once bright and happy.
Anna could only nod her head and lay it against his chest and listen to his rapid heartbeat. Marius carried her out of the dark alleyway and down the street, holding her tightly against his chest and never wanted to let her go and feared the fact that if he did, she would not remain on this Earth ever again.
