Hyiru was like a innocent child, awed and amazed by every little thing. He quickly stacked my silverware and dishes in intricate patterns. I winced as the clatter of silverware bouncing from my table and the crash of smashing porcleanin. Yes, a child indeed. "Here try these." I said giving him a stack of paper plates. He squealed and happily ran off them, throwing them to and fro like frisbees. I chuckled and quickly hid my remaining dishes. Just watching his speedy recovery made wonder if he'd out live me! The only thing that really asured me of his new found mortality was the hard wracking cough he'd give every so often. He gave another cough, his body buckeling and dropping him to his knees. He held his ribs and mouth as he wheezed on the floor. "Pardon me." He chuckled and sat back, rocking slightly. "I'm getting too old to be running around so recklessly!" His disarming smile had me shaking my head. "What do you want to do now?" I asked, kneeling beside him, collecting the plates he had strewn across the living room. "I want to go see that statue!" He shouted, clapping his hands together. "Corellion was Anako's previeous incarnation." he stated, suddenly returning to a thoughtful, somber pose. "I wonder if he even remembers reincarnating?" He mused quietly. Reincarnated? But I though these gods could live eons upon eons without death, yet that 3 thousand year old statue is a previeous incarnation? These people were so complex! Hyiru slowly stood up again, using the wall as leverage. He was panting slightly, a light tremble corsing through his body. "Hyiru, you want me to fetch you a cane or something?" I asked, placing a hand gingerly on his frail shoulders. "Bah! I need a walker!" He laughed loudly, walking around me. He was actually sauntering! His hips swaying and hands flexed out. He flipped his hair and turned back to me. "Coming?" He asked coyly. "Yes grandfather." I remarked, grinning as he frowned at me. "If Anako hadn't make me promise to see to your health I'd flay you!" He snapped, snapping his fingers also. This only brought forth more giggles. Such a wonderful guy! He was so funny! "You'd have to catch me first!" I laughed, running by him and jumping on the railing. I easily slid down the smooth metal rail, waving at the gapping elder. However he jumped atop the rail alos, slidding down on his feet. His odd sock like shoes easily permitted him to glide down to me, landing with grace better suited to a man nearly a trillinth of his age! "What ever you can do, I can do better." He smirked, trying to bite off a cough but failing miserably. "Don't kill your self now." I said scoldingly, rubbing his back soothingly. "Thanks." He said and fell over me, glomp tackeling me. "Hey!" I whinned, not really wanted to accidentally send him flying into the stratosphere. He grinned and jumped to his feet, haning on some random old lady. "Kids these days..." He said mournfully to the woman whose arm he had drapped over top of. "I should say!" She barked. A few seconds later She had him fleeing down the sidewalk. "Great... Now I have to go find him." I sighed and slowly followed after. "He sure can run... The lady too..." I said watchign their forms running on in the distance. I was about to follow when a flicekr of light shown at me from down a dark alley. "That's odd..." I murmured, trying to spot the shiny. There as nothing obvious that would have reflected the sun at me. I shrugged and turned back to the duo. They were returning, arm in arm appearing to be singing... I grimaced at the thought of being towed around with them. If they made Bingo plans I'm sending Anako to baby sit... er- elder sit.... Then the shiny was blinding me again. The prospect of being seen with either of the two was not so welcome so I opted to go find the shiny. I crept down the alley, trying to find something metalic or reflective. Strange... Most everything was covered in tarps or ragged blankets. I heard a soft jingle and looked around to see a glint of the shiny again. I started towards but stopped at I noticed the cat attached to it. The cilver name tag gleamed, catching the few rays of sun that existed down here. The gray tabby looked scared and alone, its fur scruffed and tail wrapped around its quivering body. It mewed softly, trying to back furhter into the wall. "Its okay kitty-kitty." I said, tapping my fingers against the grungy dirt ground. It mewed pitifully and still tried to struggle. "What's wrong, kitty-kitty?" I asked, chuckling softly. "Look at the kitty I found." A gruff, grating voice said behind me. As I whipped around his meaty fist glanced by my face. I shrieked and rolled back. Unfortunately for me I fell onto my stomach and had to scramble to my feet to avoid his truck like leg from stomp down on me. I screamed again and dashed down the dead end alleyway. I flung myself at the brick building, trying to climb up it. My fingers dug into the dcrumblign brick, getting cut and nearly pulling all the skin from them. My feet kicked helplessly against the shredding building. I was stuck. It's over. The man was in no hurry, he flashed the light into my eyes off some items he held in his beefy fist. He turned it again, allowing me to see the instrament of my demise. His flashing knief, waved tauntingly at me, drawing all of my focus. He had come upon me, holding the knief's tip under my chin. "Such a pretty thing." He grinned savagely, drool starting to trickly from the corner of his mouth. "Anako!!" I screamed out, flailing my arms and legs out at him. They all bounced off his massive build body. I'd get further punching at the stupid wall behind me. He roared with laughter and closed one hand around my thin neck. He lifted me and smashed me into the wall. Explosions of colour and lights flashed across my vision. I choked and scratched at his arm, struggeling to get air. I coughed and gaged as his knief cut into the side of my leg, cutting open the outer seam of my pants and my leg at the same time. He eased open hand enought to allow me to scream out in pain. Tears nagged at my eyes as he continued to drag the knief up to my arm pit. He pulled free his deadly blade and bury it with in my navel. I screamed and the tears gushed faster than the blood leaving my body. I heard his feral laughing howl then suddenly cut as the fading world reeled back. I felt light and my body no longer hurt. I felt like I was surrounded by air... Like the air in the ethereal world Anako hails from. Then I seen him, Anako flit from mind to my vision. His always stern visage twisted in a blood thirsty smile. I tried to say something to him but no sound came to my lips. Then I noted that Anako had dyed his hair blond. It looked so pretty with those sparkling bareetes in it... I smiled at Anako's new look and my gaze fell on the pool of red forming around my waist.
I reached out and coated my finger tips in the purply-red liquid. I traced swirls on the dirt covered ground as the world fell from me and the blackness consumed me completely.
