After a much needed sleep, Ryuu-san awoke with sweat dripping from his face. He sighed in grief as to realize he just awoke himself to the torment once more.
He could not help it, but he just needed to peer down at his meeting place. Of course, there he found nothing... He was foolish enough to think Hebi-san would ever go back there. he squinted hard to see if maybe his eyes were tricking him... as he now could not trust anything. What he found on the ground was not Hebi-san, but a small spirit, one who he was not familiar with. What could have this meant? he thought to himself. He swept down from the sky to interrogate the spirit.
"What business do you have hear, spirit?" sighed Ryuu-san.
"Do not be alarmed," Replied the translucent being, "I am only a watcher... that which does not involve oneself with their quarrels."
Confused he replied, "Then you are hear to mock me..."
"Take it as you will," Said the spirit, "I am only here to show you what I have heard and seen."
Ryuu-san did not know if he could trust this being... He had heard stories of such, but he had never confronted one himself. But seeing as he had nothing to lose anymore, he agreed to listen... For his tale had already gone sour.
"Speak, spirit... But dont make this long. It is most likely a tale i have heard many times already." said Ryuu-san through clentched teeth.
"Very well..." said the harmless spirit, "I have observing Hebi-san, and I have news on her past times since your worldly known occurence."
Ryuu-san's eyes widened but he could not help but listen in.
"From what I have heard, it has been you that has been foolish, Ryuu-san" He gave an angry sigh at this, "She has told the rest of the animals that it was you who had dimished your relationship... From the whispers I have heard it was you who suggested they not see eachother anymore."
Ryuu-san cocked his head up at that statement and was confused even more so, "I did not say such blasphemy!" Roared the frustrated dragon.
"Be at peace dragon... Whether you said it or not, I will truly not know." said the spirit calmly, "But you and I both know that bluffing is not a game to be played."
Ryuu-san could not believe his ears. He who was the most majestic being out of the zodiac animals, was being edjucated by a spirit that rarely shows their face. Though he knew most of these tales were wrong, he was forced to accept them... For he knew that everyone else's story was far more believable than his... Nobody can come to believe the being who has his head in the sky.
"What's done is done." said the spirit with a pittied face. The spirit had more to say, and this frustrated dragon was forced to listen, for his foolishness made him believe there would be pleasent news to hear. Alas he was fooled once more by his stupidity. "From what I have seen, it was your foolish pride that caused this. The dragon's ego can be so vast..." sighed the spirit.
"nggh...." He could not find any words to say. For even the spirit was right... Majestic as he was, he was also the biggest fool to all.
"I have been watching over you occasionaly as well, Ryuu-san" smirked the spirit, "and those other snakes you had met the other day are friends of Hebi-san as well."
"Bring me news I do not know, Spirit."
"Very well, you might need to know that the one that has been around Hebi-san the most has been friends with her since they were hatchlings." said the spirit with a wide grin.
"Enough!" spoke Ryuu-san loudly, so as to interrupt the spirit from continuing. "Be gone... Please."
The spirit nodded and turned its back to the lifeless dragon. "If things did not turn out the way as they did, she would not be around him so much... But there's no use in crying over spilled wine.... Even though the proud dragon does not shed tears." With that the spirit vanished.
Ryuu-san lay on the ground lifeless at what he agreed to listen to. He was a fool to not stop the spirit sooner. Now he knew his situation was not good on either sides...
He gave a weak smile and spoke out, "So you did come to mock me... I am too much a fool." With that he returned to sky, as weak as ever. He looked down at the earth that hated him, the sky that whispered words he did not wish to hear, and now he also looked down at his past... which all the animals see as his fault.
