Last night, my little boy Gulliver did not return home. We had a curfew on our cats of around 9pm. It was not uncommon for Gulliver to miss his curfew, but he usually came in during the numerous checks we made throughout the night. It was very rare for him not to come in at all during the night, though it has happened a few times.
But when my dad got up today he told me Gully had not been in all night or morning, and I looked around the neighborhood calling for him but didn't see him. I was planning to do a better search for him after taking some medication and relaxing for a little while. I was sure Gulliver would turn up eventually. He was mischievous and loved to play with you.
Then, when I was lying in bed listening to music, my dad came and told me.. he had found Gulliver. He was on the side of a road less than a block from my house, next to some large bushes. I went back with him to see for myself and it was indeed Gulliver. It seems he had been hit by a car in the head.. It probably happened late last night or early this morning.. We buried him behind our shed just a couple of hours ago..

Gulliver, you were the best little boy I could ever ask for. You were my best friend and I will always love you. I hope to all of the gods in the world that you were happy, that we made you half as happy as you made us.

I uploaded some videos I made of my cats, Gulliver and Pinky, last week to share with a couple of friends. Here is the link in case any of you would like to see how wonderful my Gully was..
I will never forget you, Gully. If everyone in the world had a friend like you, the world would be a better place.
