Envy Poem
Envy is a volcano,
Burning and causing fear to those who are near it.
It is a sad country song,
For when opposite, you get everything you once had back.
It is a rainstorm and lightning,
That will strike you down and drown you.
Its taste of lemon stinging your tongue with sourness,
Or a sting of a wasp.
Envy screeches through us,
Its wail deafening opposed to our sense of reasoning.
If envy were food, would you starve?
Or would you succumb to its jealousy-filled darkness.
It is a stone that, when thrown,
Will hurt everyone it is thrown at.
Its heat and cold, like a desert,
Changing into something worse throughout day and night.

"Demon pox, oh, demon pox,
Just how is it acquired?
One must go down to the bad part of town
Until one is very tired.
Demon pox, oh, demon pox,
I had it all along-
No, not the pox, you foolish blocks,
I mean this very song-
For I was right and you were wrong!"
