The Gryffindor house is falling behind the rest of the school. But they don't seem to care one bit. The seventh year is falling behind in their NEWT level work, and even our brilliant Hermione is falling behind. Nowadays she just wants to lay in bad and cry. Ron isn't doing well either. He just sits in a big puffy red chair and stares at a fire while tears run down his face.
Nothing seems to cheer this gloomy house up. But to make things worse, the Daily Prophet has printed hundreds upon hundreds of copies of the tragic story. But the thing on the front page isn't the death of the Dark Lord, but the death of the boy who lived. Yes, Mr. Harry J. Potter is dead. The wizarding world must say good bye to one of it's most famous heroes. Though he never wanted to be one.
The seventh year has taken this blow hard but not as hard as Hermione, Ron, Ginny and the rest of Harry's second family. Many wonder how the new trio (Hermione, Ron, and Ginny) are taking it. Most of the sixth year have seen Ginny break down, run out of class etc. It is the same with Hermione and Ron. No one dares to laugh, for they are afraid one of them might snap.
The joy, laughter, and happiness seems to have been sucked out of Hogwarts completely. As for the rest of school they worry about Voldemort's growing power and the continued killings. The only one who seems unfazed by all of this is one Seventh year who is new at Hogwarts. He doesn’t know the trio but he seems to know a lot about them.
He looks like Harry, acts like him, and worst he sounds some what like him. For this and much more Ginny hates him. But Ron and Hermione find him easy to talk to. But what they don’t know is that this new kid is Harry. Hiding in plain sight is the best thing to do. What do they say, If you want to hide a leaf or a stick go to the forest? Besides he is able to keep a watchful eye on his friends and loved ones.
He hasn't found out anything new, but with a winter ball coming up at Hogwarts it seems the best thing to do. Funny thing that the Headmistress would plan another Yule Ball, but seeing as Darkness has fallen over Hogwarts she planned this for the soul purpose of raising spirits. As many prepare for this event, with some excitement, others can only wish every thing was back to normal.
I forgot the setting:
It's any where inside Hogwarts, it's about 6:30pm so it's dinner time. You don't have to have your character in their school uniform. Also it's the night before the dance, so it's snowing heavily, and Lupin is the DADA teacher. Slughorn has stayed at Hogwarts as the Potions teacher and Kingsly has replaced McGonagall as the Transfiguration teacher. This is because McGonagall has become the Headmistress.
