As you oversee such a gallant ball you catch a glittering out of the corner of your eye. You pay it no head at first, perhaps someone passing in front of the light or a shiny dress. But it seems to follow you. You head towards a nearby balcony in order to clear your head but upon the railing sits a single white feather. It could be a birds feather but as you reach over to pick it up it floats away just out of your reach. You chase it down a nearby flight of stairs into a garden you are sure wasn't here before.
As a fine white mist settles the phantasmal wind tugging at the fluttering feather draws you further into the milky garden until you reach a warm ivory light. As you draw nearer to the light a ghostly silhouette of a man in white garb appears before you. Great magnificent white feathered wind erupt from his back and engulf you in warmth. You don't feel frightened for some reason.
The you realize for a second that your eyes are closed. You open your eyes and discover your back at the ball. A weight in your arms draws your attention to a mysterious white and blue package. Tied under a cobalt ribbon is a fancy card upon which is elegant silvery handwriting. You can't quite make out the language but deep down the words meaning somehow finds your heart.
"Maybe I just imagined it," he thought as he was back at the ball. Than feeling the weight of the blue and white package on his arm, he looks at the card under the ribbon, "or maybe not." He lets out a sigh, he really did wish he knew who the mysterious man was.
