I just finished the 13 episode long anime series called "Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi" and I found out that it is a lot funnier than I thought it would be. It was also extremely sad, which I didn't expect from such a funny show.
This story takes place in Osaka in an area known as the Shopping Arcade Abenobashi where a boy named Sasshi and his friend Arumi live. In the arcade there lies four shops which keep sacred statues. To the north lies the turtle statue, owned by Sasshi's family, who's shop was taken down. To the east is the dragon statue, who's shop was also taken down. The west has the tiger statue, also removed. The last remaining statue is the pelican statue to the south that belong to Arumi's family.
It seemed that Abenobashi was going to be fine, until Arumi's grandpa fell off the roof of their shop, bringing the statue down with him which broke on impact. This caused a great disturbance in Abenobashi which sent Sasshi and Arumi into a parallel universe! Although they are still with their family and loved ones, they leap from universe to universe to return to the place they came.
Long description, but here's my take on it.
Name: 5/5
It's a long name, but it's really fun to say. "Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi". Try saying that five times fast.
Story: 5/5
At first, it seemed really random, but as the plot starts to build up, you realize that it's a really interesting and unique story.
Appearance: 4/5
The art style changes each jump Sasshi and Arumi make which makes each episode a totally new experience.
Overall:
It had great art, story, and it was extremely funny. This anime is totally worth the watch. Just make sure that you don't have any kids around. This anime is 17+. This anime gets 5 PANTY WEARING GOBLINS OUTTA 5!
I hope to do Anime Sunday next week, so the anime I hope to watch is...
Samurai Champloo
I have seen it, but I never got to see it entirely! I hope I can next week!
