Hey Everyone,

Brittany here, I am wondering something. I see many fights on the internet or in school and something always seem to bother me. When fights happen I see excitement in eyes of people and cheering as one gets beaten down. it is kind of sickening to think one enjoys seeing someone hurt. Almost sad. There are good and bad bystanders in these types of fights. Some bystanders like to instigate the bully by pushing him/her to begin. Also, bad bystanders further stimulate the bully by making comments, laughing, or cheering. Which is actually encouraging the bully to go further in his act. Also, bystanders tend to join in on the bullying. Which is sickening when the victim needs help, but that is not the only thing that bad bystanders do. I am not saying you are a bad person, but you actions tends to tell otherwise. The last thing is when bystanders do nothing but watch the show. When accepting what is happening and without knowing these type of bystanders actually contribute to the problem that is happening. It actually does what the bully craves in and it silently accepts the bullies behavior.

A helpful bystander would do the simplest things to help stop the situation. They would stop the ******** directly,or discourage the bully and defend the victim. Or, get help from an adult. SIMPLE!!!!!

But ya'know..... I am mostly the bad bystander. Honestly im scared when fights happen. I have no clue what to do and what would be the best way to stop it right away. I have a fear of getting hurt or being the next victim to be honest. I sound like an a*****e i know, im just being honest. realistically speaking, when speaker comes to the school and asks would you help the victim or stand and watch. Sure enough, majority of the school or classroom would say i would help the victim. But lets get real, 3/4 of those people wont do anything, even me. 1/4 of those people might actually help. Even if i wanted to step in i feel so powerless and feel like i couldn't do anything even if I wanted to. Hell, i have never been in a fight in my whole life and i am in grade 12.

In my whole life i have i only help my friends or my best-est friends when it comes to bullies AKA bitches. (wow....im sorry ) so i am equally as horrible as the bystander who watches. So ....

Would you step in?
Did you ever stick up for someone?
Would you ever stick up for someone you hate when they are bullied?
Or Do you think it is non of your business?
