He told himself he couldn't live without her. One morning with out a warning, he kissed his momma goodbye. There weren't many places he wanted to go, but he had to. Her of all people, he loved her.

Two days later...

She knew he was excited and full of so much energy, but when she saw him in that hospital bed, she collapsed to the floor. When her eyes couldn't give out anymore tears, she held his hand and felt him breathe while deep in slumber. Repeatedly, for hours, in between sobs, she told him she loved him and would never stop. He reached for her hand and wiped away her tears. She looked deep into his eyes, and felt every emotion disappear. "I love you too, baby."

A few more hours of waiting, and the doctor walked in... "Ms. James, he's going to be okay. He can go home in two days if he recovers well enough, but just have him stay resting until he can get in and out of bed without your help, okay? Can you do that for me?" he asked. "I can," she said with a sigh. "Doctor, will he be able to walk?" She bit her lip, and waited for the doctor to reply. He put his hand on her shoulder and said, "I'm afraid not. He is completely paralyzed from the waist down, and it would be a miracle if he could." With that he walked quietly out of the room.

When they finally returned home, she made him dinner and told him that everything was going to be okay and she would always love him, no matter what happened to him.

Two years later...

She came home and saw a note on the kitchen counter.

Hey baby,
B home round 5:30. Went out w/ Carter + Jake. I got dinner. Relax til I get ther.

John

She then looked at the clock, it read 6:33. Just as she grabbed the phone, it rang. "Hello?" she answered. "This is she... Oh my... Okay I'm on my way. What?" She fell, gasping for her breath. Finally she hung up the phone and ran to the hospital. When getting to the ER, she asked if John Colly had been admitted. The receptionist said no. "What do you mean he wasn't admitted? I just got a call from here saying he was here! Where is he!? A nurse then rushed to her and pointed to the waiting room, and there she saw John, the love of her life... Alive.

A week later...

After a number of phone calls from relatives for days now, they are both saddened to say John was the only survivor of the three of them...
