Here I give you the chapters of my two week vacation to and in Florida, (from memory). I shall list what I have experienced, what I’ve learned and whatever else I feel like writing about. Beware though: I say a lot without saying anything at all, and you will probably notice random mood swings over time. So, enjoy. (:
Car ride to Orlando, Florida.
Friday August 18 2006
We packed the van a little after four am; ready to embark on our long journey of 19 hours. We planned to spread the driving time out to two days, 12 hours today and the other 7 the next day. Attempting to catch up on my sleep hours, I laid in the most uncomfortable position. Having only slept a few hours before the trip, the incessant humming of the van became oblivious to my senses as I drifted to sleep, only managing to obtain an hour of sleep in the cramped van. Claustrophobia was an issue for me sitting in the back, luggage stuffed into the trunk behind me, bags crammed in every other accessible space possible, including on top of me.
Our (my family) first stop was at McDonald’s in Erie, Pennsylvania, where we had breakfast. Which was not very appetizing, might I add. We had packed other food and assortments to eat on the way for the trip later on in the day.
It is 12:03 pm at the moment, the sun is high, bright and hot; the sky’s a clear blue other than the occasional cloud or two spotting the sky.
So far, I have gone through four CDs; Queens of the Stone Age, Billy Talent I, The Fray, and I’m currently listening to Billy Talent II. I have watched one movie, The Prince of Egypt... The only other entertainment I have are my novels and sketch book.
According to the map, which I can’t read, says that this route ‘… is an interesting route winding through hilly farming and mining country; generally follows a course of the West Fork and Elk Rivers.’ Blah, blah, blah; sounds very interesting… not. So, I’m here typing nonsense that no one will even probably read until the second paragraph. Pity me, will you. My CD player is almost out of energy, and I don’t feel like reaching back behind me and digging out my bag just to get two double A batteries. So I shall sit here, waiting until the batteries run out; and pondering about what rubbish I should write about next.
It’s been 10 minutes so far, and I really have nothing else to say… Hey, look! It’s 12:26 now. I still see the same stuff outside… D:
9:22 pm right now, I’m staying over night at a Quality Inn and Suites, waking up at 5 am in the morning to be ready to leave at 6. The day had been pretty uneventful as far as I know; lots of stops at gas stations. My family’s watching the TV; which is of little concern to me.
This hotel said that they have high-speed internet access! Why am I not getting internet access!? This place sucks!!! D< (I'm writing this in Word).
They’re watching the weather channel now; something about floods, earthquakes and the forces of nature. I’ve been reading a really great novel, Split Second by Alex Kava, and I’m almost done. (I started reading this morning when I had enough light to see from the outside.) I’m waiting for my dang towel to get here! They only supplied two in this room, and there are four people staying in this room… Gah, I feel so dirty. o.o;;
I’ve listened to Billy Talent II like a bajillion times, and I bet I can keep going! There’s only seven more hours to drive until we reach our destination, which seems like a life time. And Microsoft Word keeps pointing out my errors. Damn you! >(
GEEBUS, the service here is slow. Nothing else to say now, so, g’night.
EWWW!!!! THIS PLACE HAS FREAKIN' COCKROACHES HERE!!
What I have learned today: I’ve got ADD and instant mash potatoes are not made for human consumption. Oh, and cockroaches are disgusting. D:
