A POEM OF REGRET
I cannot cry
For I don’t deserve to weep
I feel wretched
For what I have done thee
And most of all
I cannot ask for forgiveness
For my sin should not be forgiven
You asked me to stay
I said I’m so busy today
You begged me to stay
But I said I have to go this way
You grasped my hand
I saw the pleading light in your eyes
I took my hand back
said, ‘’I’m sorry’’ and started to rise
Ever since then, I regretted the day
The day of your birthday. That I refused to stay
I’ve found out about the news, just this morning
I can’t believe my ears, is it true you're dying..?
I went to your house.. but I was too late
I found you in your coffin, and I felt my heart ache
My God! My God! What have I done?
A simple wish from her
And yet I refused and ran!
I cannot cry.. I cannot weep..
This is what I deserve.. For what I have done thee..
I cannot cry
For I don’t deserve to weep
I feel wretched
For what I have done thee
And most of all
I cannot ask for forgiveness
For my sin should not be forgiven
You asked me to stay
I said I’m so busy today
You begged me to stay
But I said I have to go this way
You grasped my hand
I saw the pleading light in your eyes
I took my hand back
said, ‘’I’m sorry’’ and started to rise
Ever since then, I regretted the day
The day of your birthday. That I refused to stay
