How had she gotten herself into this mess? She'd hoped that everything would turn out okay but then again with her when did it ever. Kagome stared at her wall with blank eyes, it had been almost a month since she'd come back from the feudal Japan and she hadn't gotten any better. All she did was stare at the wall and try and figure out what she'd done wrong. Her mother had found her at the bottom of the well curled into the fetal position sobbing. Why you ask? Oh just the simple fact that she'd found Inuyasha and Kikyo under the tree once again, only this time they'd gotten even farther than the last time.
Two slipped out and rolled down her cheek as she thought of it. She had almost been positive that Inuyasha was going to pick her but there was the proof that he didn't. A sob wracked her small frame as she sobbed into her pillow. She'd let herself hope that he loved her, her biggest mistake. She'd run for the well and hadn't looked back, even leaving her bag in the hut.
“Kagome sweetie...”
Kagome looked up from her pillow to see her mother entering the room. She felt a pang of guilt deep her heart as she looked at her mom. She hadn't even explained what had happened, she'd just gone to her room and stayed there. But somehow her mother seemed to understand and gave her daughter some room to get over it alone. Her mother moved to sit on the bed and Kagome threw herself into her mothers arms and sobbed harder than she had in the past month.
“Oh mama, I though he might pick me....but...but...” Kagome cried into her mother's chest.
The older woman just rocked her child, speaking in hushed tones that soothed the girls sobbing. She was so worried about her daughter, this just wasn't healthy. But Kagome staying in this house, this shrine, was not healthy. She couldn't get over it when everywhere she looked she was reminded of the Hanyou that had broken her heart. That's why the woman had made her choice, she was going to send her to stay with a friend of hers across town. She was also going to scrape up enough money to send her to one of the best private schools in town. Even if it killed her she was going to get her daughter to forget about Inuyasha and the past.
---------- Ouran Academy Two Days Later----------
Haruhi sighed as she fought the urge to hit someone. She didn't have time to deal with one of Tamaki's tantrums, which was in full swing because she'd told him that she couldn't come to the meeting after school. It wasn't her fault that one of her father's friends was sending her daughter to live with them. It also wasn't her fault that her father wanted her home to greet the girl. What was her fault was the fact that she'd thought Tamaki could handle it. Yes, that definatly was her fault. Another sigh left her throat as she turned to Kyoya with a look of pure hatred of life.
"I'll see all of you tomorrow, I have to get home," she muttered as she walked away. Hopefully Kyoya would be able to calm the boy before Haruhi got to school the next day. Why did her life have to be so complicated?
It took Haruhi twenty minutes to get to her house but by time she'd gotten there she could see her father inviting two women into the house. It didn't take a genius to figure out that one of them was the girl that would be living with them.
