Damn... Martial.. arts... training..... |

TEAM OYAMA So I'm sure you've heard that I train Martial Arts quite often, and if not.... well now you know. I've been putting in alot of work in as of late, and now I'm going to be stepping it up. I joined my gym's fight team. Great news for me right?? Yeah, its great and all... I'm just NOT looking forward to the damn training. Training for me is going to start Sept. 15th and is gonna be hell. This is what its gonna be looking like for the 1st month, before we increase the regime. A minimum of...
- 5 mile runs 3 days a week - 2hrs of wrestling (Greek/Brazilian) 3 days a week - 2hrs of Muay Thai 3 days a week - 2hrs of weight lighting 3 days a week
And that right there DOESN'T include the running and conditioning I'll be doing with my Coach at the damn gym! It just seems like sooooo much time, when am I gonna sleep damnit? I got work to go to as well... plus, I do have a life. I suppose some sacrifices have to be made though. Don't get me wrong now... I'm glad they want me on their fight team, but I'm never enthusiastic about the work I gotta put in to get there.
I recently clicked up with my current gym 'No Limits' after hearing about their head coach. He has a good reputation for training professional fighters, and he was a friend of a friend. I personally was a little biased at first, but after training there for sometime, I really like it and all the people there. (Not to mention the women that come through there, WOOT!). All in all, I was interested in seeing what Team Oyama had to offer. Now they're putting me on their fight team.
Caoch Oyama is most famous for his MMA background. He has trained Tito Ortiz and Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson (who I actually got to meet at the gym about a month ago!). Here's Coach with Tito Ortiz,
and here is Oyama and a few others who were in Rampage's corner at one of the Prdie GP's. Not much I could find online with them.
I suppose I am happy about it, cuz I don't wanna be like 80yrs old thinking back like 'what woulda happened if I DID fight for Oyama?'. So in that respect, I should really drive myself to accomplish what I need to. From what I hear, there are a good number of fights in Nov and Dec this year that they are gonna try an squeeze me into, but we are gonna play it by ear. I'm sure I'll be more motivated when it gets closer to the 15th, but for right now I'm just enjoying the free time I have before its gone. I'll probably get a few good Muay Thai bouts in before I compete MMA.
So I'm 6'2 about 225 right now. I believe Heavyweight Class starts at 215lbs for Muay Thai and MMA. That means 215lbs and up!! A dude could come in at like 300lbs and it'd be nothing. Shoot... I'm probably going to cut down to a comfortable 207lbs-210lbs. or something like that. Anyway, leave me your feedback on what you think. razz

I know I hardly ever write on this thing.... but thats because hardly anyone probably reads this stuff! Anyway, I wanted to take some time out to talk about one of my current favorite Anime/mangas... Bleach. I remember when I first picked up bleach, I thought it was gonna be a copy off of Yu-yu Hakusho, being that they are a form of sipirt dectector, but I was wrongly mistaken. This series is doooooope. I has a good mix of comedy, series action, and even romance. Of course, all I care about is the damn action... and that there's a good story to that said action, but I really think anyone can get into it. Check out the brief synopsis..
raped from Bleachportal.net Kurosaki Ichigo looks just like any average 15 year old teenager with only one big difference; he can see ghosts/spirits. Rukia Kuchiki, a Shinigami (Soul Reaper) is out on a mission to find an evil spirit called a Hollow. The Hollow’s target is none other than Ichigo. Rukia and Ichigo confront each other for the first time. Ichigo’s family gets endangered by the Hollow and the only way to stop it was for Rukia, who was injured, to transfer her Shinigami powers to Ichigo who had a strong spiritual force. The concurrence of Rukia and Ichigo leads to many adventures, with a lot of humor along the way. Ichigo helps Rukia fight off Hollows and keep the town safe. The story continues with many twists and turns with action, adventure and comedy.
So thats that. It seems to start out just a little slow for my tastes, but picks up really quickly. Here are some characters that might be helpful to know...
Kurosaki, Ichigo – Main Character Kuchiki, Rukia – Secondary Main Character Kurosaki Family – Consists of Isshin (Father), Karin (Younger Sister), Yuzu (Youngest Sister) Sado, Yasutora – Ichigo’s large muscular friend though very gentle and kind hearted. Inoue, Orihime – Classmate of Ichigo who has a secret crush on him. Ishida, Uryu – A spiritual human much like Ichigo. He is the last of the Quincy’s (race).
Disaclaimer: Bleach may cause serius injury, even death upon watching due to the awesomeness it exudes.
I am SOOOOOOO fresh, that I'm going to give you links to check it out for yourself! I think 3 episodes should do good for a start off. If you want more, you can check them out on youtube, or DL them directly to your comp from Bleachportal.net...
Episode 1 - HERE Episode 2 - HERE Episode 3 - HERE
Bleach is a really dope show. There's never a dull moment, and the storyline is well written out. Being that Naruto is in its slow period, its definitely a great change of pace... and even better than Naruto in my opinion eek ! Trust me, you wont be disappointed. Two thunder thumbs up!!

For some of yall that don't now, I'm an aspiring Emcee/Singer. I've been writing seriously for the past two years, actually trying to formulate songs and whatnot. This is one of my works. I UN-lazified myself enough to actually write out the lyrics, so here you are...
Quote: Talks CheapChorus: They say money talks, I say talks cheap cuz you can't take it with ya, when your flesh sleeps and I know, everybody gotta eat, just don't forget what makes your soul complete... Verse 1: They say money talks, well I don't think so, dedicate your life to feeding your ego, a house on the sands with land in Puerto Rico, make a hundred grand to impress your people, cuz cats judge success by what you posess, and stay obsessed, with the monetary finesse, mo' money, mo' problems, the more you're depressed, while I keep my mind fresh, and write out my stress, no need for a bulletproof vest, I stay humble, may fumble, but I know that Jah bless, I give thanks and pray for those unthankful, may they be lead by their guardian angel, cuz money tangles up the mind, is known to mis-align the spirit from the true purpose, its like the flesh does the soul a dis-service, flowing down the cash current... Chorus: They say money talks, I say talks cheap cuz you can't take it with ya, when your flesh sleeps and I know, everybody gotta eat, just don't forget what makes your soul complete... Verse 2: Soul completion leads to cash depletion, the more you find love, the more you find a reason, to switch ya thinkin, like a change of season, and it all starts with believing, in the security of your neighbor's well-being, do you help the next man, or start deceiving? when it comes to money, do you give back to the less fortunate? or just intend to make more with it, now I know its a difficult concept, cuz we're taught to only depend upon self, a snake's stealh is proken, to make wealth movements, but when you're dancing the snake, its your soul you're losing, and I'm using my heart to speak with, spreading the compassion to live life decent, by becoming more involved in world events, focus your spiritual light and become a beacon. Chorus Out: They say money talks, I say talks cheap cuz you can't take it with ya, when your flesh sleeps and I know, everybody gotta eat, just don't forget what makes your soul complete...
If you'd like to hear it, click HERE Leave some feed on the lyrics if you like.

Memoirs of a Geisha
I just want to take some time out to talk about a great new movie thats coming out Memoirs of a Geisha. This film starts one of my favorite asian action actresses, Zhang Zi-Yi. In this movie, she won't be performing any of her standard Gung Fu moves... so it'll be interesting to see how well she holds up in a full "non-action" role. Not only that, but being that her first language is Mandarin Chinese, I'm anxious to see how cleanly she pulls off her English speaking. Here's a brief description of the Plot....
Quote: The strikingly pretty child of an impoverished fishing family, Chiyo is taken to faraway Kyoto and sold into slavery to a renowned geisha house where she is renamed Sayuri. Initially reluctant, Sayuri must finally invent and cultivate an image of herself as a desirable geisha in order to survive in Gion's cruel hierarchy. Through her eyes, we are given a backstage view of the ancient and secretive geisha district, Gion, and of the lives of the women who learn and practice the rigorous arts of the geisha. Behind its facade of haunting beauty the district turns out to be a viciously competitive place where women vie desperately for men's favor and largess, where a young girl's virginity is auctioned off to the highest bidder, where personal trust is almost nonexistent, and where no woman can afford even to dream about love or happiness. A timeless pocket of the world, Gion cannot remain cut off from the bustle of the modern era forever. When Japan enters the Second World War, Gion's isolation is finally breached and Sayuri must once again reinvent herself and her way of existence. Memoirs of a Geisha is a treasure of a book, an unparalleled look at a strange and mysterious world which has now almost vanished. It is also, and unforgettably, a dazzling portrait of a singular and most seductive woman who tells her story in a compelling first person voice
Just a note to everyone reading this.... Thunder Foot likes all things Japanese (I'm sure we all do to some degree, otherwise we wouldn't be members on this site), so I was naturally drawn to this movie. Its based on a book of the same name written by Arthur Golden. I've had the plasure of reading a few chapters. I'm sure that after seeing the movie, I'll purchase the book. Here's the cover, for those interested....
For those interested, here is the link to the trailer... Windows Media / QuickTime (if those don't work, try THIS url.)
Personally my thought of Geisha prior to my short read of the book, was a glamorized Japanese prostitute. This is partly due to the American Medial standard of this culture, as well as partly due to my own ignorance. It wasn't until my study of the Japanese language, that the culture of the Geisha was partly revealed to me. Now, how the movie is going to enlighten America on such a standard is beyond me. But on the real, the movie looks beautiful... and thats definitely NOT a term I use loosely. Of course, Zhang Zi-YI throwing a Gung Fu kick SOMEWHERE in the movie would make it perfect for me, but thats wishful thinking. Here are some screenshots of the movie....
This is definitely going to be a great movie... shoot, its got me excited. I think any type of movie fan will be able to enjoy it.Its got Thunder Foot's official seal of approval for crying out loud!! biggrin

Hey, I'm just taking time out to talk about my favorite cartoon of all time.... ThunderCats. This cartoon came out back in 1985, and was re-aired by Cartoon Network for a shortt time, in 1999 i believe. I still have my toys from back in the day, when this cartoon was aired... but recent talk of a NEW (you heard right, new!!) series of ThunderCats has fans going crazy, including myself. Talk right now, is that it would be something of the likes, close to the New Justice League, or Batman cartoons that are currently out. Where the characters are redone, under new animation... with time set slightly ahead of the previous saga. This being said from one of the cartoon's writers, Peter Lawrence. At any rate, check out this this storyline to familiarize yourself with one of the greatest cartoons of all time.
Classic Series Premise In the beginning, the ThunderCats (humanoid cat creatures) - with Lion-O a mere cub and Jaga still among the living - must flee their home planet, Thundera, as it self-destructs. Adding to their worries are the troublesome Mutants of Plundarr (humanoid animal creatures) who desire the power within the coveted Eye of Thundera within the Sword of Omens, which the noble Thunderians (the ThunderCats) guard closely. Most of the fleeing Thunderian vessles are destroyed by a Mutant fleet...all but one, the royal Flag Ship. The Mutants do manage to board the damaged ship but are fought off. The ThunderCats aren't out of the woods yet - with their ship disabled they can no longer journey to their original destination and must settle for a closer planet (Third Earth). Worse yet, it's still quite a distance so they all must make the trip in suspension. All but Jaga, as his advanced age diminished his chances of survival even with suspension which slows the aging process. Jaga dies en route to Third Earth, and once they crash land, Lion-O emerges from suspension as an adult with a cub's mind. The Mutants have followed the 'Cats to Third Earth and waste no time attacking. Thus begins the ThunderCats' struggle to survive in their new home, as both they and the Mutants settle in. While the ThunderCats make new friends with some natives (The Berbils, Warrior Maidens, etc), so do the Mutants with the evil mage Mumm-Ra. The first 65 episodes deal with their early adventures on Third Earth as Lion-O learns to lead and grow up while fighting off powerful foes. From the midpoint (roughly the ThunderCats HO! movie) on, the focus is less on Lion-O's growth and eventually on the stuggle for power and returning to the 'Cats reformed home, New Thundera. The second half of the series also introduces new characters: three Thunderians that became ThunderCats (Pumyra, Lynx-O, and Bengali) as well as new enemies in the Lunataks. Eventually, the Lunataks and Mutants were all but written out (and badly, in "Circus Train" wink so that it was down to just the ThunderCats vs. Mumm-Ra and whatever evil he could conjur up. Also, the new focus of the ThunderCats became settling New Thundera by calling refugees home (apparently, not ALL the other ships were destroyed in "Exodus" wink and finding the scattered Treasure of Thundera before Mumm-Ra does. Much to the disappointment of Tygra and Pumyra fans, they were largely left out of the last dozen or so episodes as they were assigned to guard Third Earth and maintain the Lair there. The series ended with the episode "Book of Omens" in which the ThunderCats race to place items from the Treasure of Thundera in their proper places around New Thundera in a given time frame or risk being frozen in time forever. The series never really went into critical details like the origins of the Eye of Thundera, Mumm-Ra, or the like - but some of the comics in the 80s attempted to tackle it (as well as the recent batch of comics with the Origins books). A good book to check out for background info is the 1989 UK-issued Annual. Some fans consider it canon, others don't but at least it's *something* in the way of an idea concerning what it's really all about. taken from Here.
And thats Thundercats. The movies are now on DVD, and can be purchased through the internet, to my knowledge. I definitely plan on picking this up. Peter Lawrence also announced that Warner Bros is currently considering releasing a movie out on Thundercats, since the fanbase is sooo huge... and has still continued on till this day. Ultimately, what that means for us.... is HOPEFULLY people having mastered the whole "comic book heroes transformed to live-action movie" technique, which will deliver us a good movie... which will also lead to.... dun dun dun, a Videogame!! Hell, if I had licensing to Thundercats, I'd make one right this second.... along with a few others. The great thing about Thundercats is, is would attract a HUGE audience, if done right. With all the violence that kids are seeing nowadays, and adults being more open to cartoons (always following suit to the Japanese, too bad the nihonjins just don't know it yet), the writeres wouldn't have to be as concerned about the censorship of the storyline. Peep the cartoon out when you get a chance.
There's also a Thunndercats comic book out for those of your that don't know. Its been put out by DC/Wildstorm. Its supposedly goes into more history on the cats. More so than the cartoon, getting behind the origins of of each member of the cats, and their origins. Here are a few pics I found online, from the comic. You can check out a few more over a comicon.com.
Also, here's a link to looks to be a screeplay of a Thundercats movie. I don't know if this thing is legit, as the date on it states the release date of July 2, 2004. Despite that, its hella detailed, all the way down to cast members, and even a forcasted budget along with box office preceedings!!! I'd be DAMN interested in seeing that. From what I read, they've casted Hugh Jackman, Angelina Jolie, Sean Connery, Ving Rames, Emma Watson, and even Kurt Russell! Now I don't know about yall, but I haven't seen Russell in anyhting good since Big Trouble, Little China. At any rate, the cast line-up looks amazing. ANd with all the publicity that comic book heroes, and cartoon characters are getting these days in movie, this is a very real possiblity. I mean, the videogame industrry beat out the movie industry by 3-fold last year! Recognize. Check the out site HERE.

Sup everyone, just taking a moment out to mention some good Anime. I'm currently hooked on Naruto. Its got to be my favorite anime out right now. I mean, I'm straight a fan when it comes to this cartoon. I got the action figures, all the current DVD episodes that are out right now, I have a good collection of the mangas... and even part 1 & 2 of the videogame for PS2. Anyone who likes anime should defninitely check this one out. THis is the one anime that I can say, appeals to all types. Shoot, in Japan the Naruto craze is insane... people walking up and down streets going about their daily jobs, all cos-played out. Anyway, check some of this info on the series...
Quote: Naruto Series Basic InformationThe Naruto anime series is an adaptation of the extremely popular Naruto manga series created by Masashi Kishimoto. First debuting on TV Tokyo in Japan on October 3rd 2002, Naruto was soon a fan favorite and would move to prime time television just 26 Episodes in, airing at 7:27PM local time in Japan. Recently voted the 10th most popular anime series in Japan, Naruto has reached a level of fandom not seen since the days of Akira Toriyama's "Dragonball" in America and abroad. Filled with stunning animation and amazing music by a variety of artists who have reached a new level of fame, it is no wonder why this series has the millions of fans it does. The Naruto Anime series centers itself around The Hidden Leaf Village, and number one abnoxious ninja, Uzumaki Naruto. Naruto has high goals in life, his dream is to become the Village's Hokage, which is the Grand Shinobi of the village. However, this will not be an easy goal for Naruto.
<---- Uzumaki Naruto
He has Kyuubi, an Evil Demon Fox that once terrorized the village, sealed within himself. The Demon Fox killed many people before the 4th Hokage of the Village sealed it inside the belly of a new born child, who grows up to be Naruto.
<---- Kyuubi
Most of the people in the village can not look past that, and do not like Nartuo at all. The reason being, because of the horrible tragedy that the Fox once brought to the village. The Hokage made it a rule that no chlid should know about Naruto having the Demon Fox inside of him, as they would hate him too. Unfortunately, because of the attitude their parants have towards Naruto, the children to look at him with frighteningly cold eyes. It is because of this that Naruto wants to earn the village's respect by becoming Hokage, then, everyone will finally recognize that he is Uzuamki Naruto! Accompanying Naruto on his journey to become Hokage is his rival Uchiha Sasuke, also the girl he has a crush on, Haruno Sakura and his Jounin Sensei, Hatake Kakashi. They will all have to go through tough, emotional and heart breaking obstacles to become the best! Series Title: Naruto Adapted From: Naruto Manga Series Created By: Masashi Kishimoto
The show itself is mad addiciting... ranging from action packed martial arts scenes, to lovey dovey relationships. Not only that, but all the characters are really original in design and personality. Also, this is one of the first anime's where the rest of the world (minus Japan) is nearly up-to-date on the episdoes as they come out... instead of watching the cartoon years after its been created. Here are some screenshots of Narutiment Hero 2 for the ps2...

The 2nd installment is about twice as dope as the first. Its a fighting game, but has elements of like Powerstone type games. Anyway, its a great game, and a must have for any Naruto fanatic.
Anyone looking to check this cartoon out, can peep a few episode slide shows... or can even download them over at
WWW.NARUTOFAN.COM
Anyone sleepin better recognize surprised .

OneBeLo aka OneManArmy

Announcing favored artist OneBeLo. I finally got off my duff and rolled into Fatbeats this past weekend, and picked up a stash of music. I had been waiting for Lo to drop his new album, and most yall cats don't even know about him. He is the frontman for the duo "Binary Star". After the disbanded he started working on his solo career. He's definitely one of my favorite emcees, right up there with Del and actually above MF in my opinion, but we wont get into that now. This CD will easily win best Indie Hiphop CD of the year... that is if Del gets caught sleepin on his upcoming "11th Hour" CD. Cuz I'm REALLy feeling this CD. Its amazing how this cat out did his "Project F.E.T.U.S." CD which was near flawless. Peep his bio.....
raped from Subterraneousrecords.Com Born and raised in Pontiac, Michigan, Nahshid Sulaiman (OneBeLo) had always grown up listening to the likes of KRS-One & Ice Cube and has crafted his style as the emcee's emcee. Combining mic skills with dramatic substance in his rhymes. OneBeLo sets the precedence for excellence with his first class rhyme style, exceptionally clear delivery, and commanding presence on the mic as well as on stage. Longtime fans of OneBeLo (formerly known as OneManArmy) may remember the underground hiphop classic Masters of the Universe by his group Binary Star. After the group disbanded, OneBeLo began focusing on his solo career and established his own independent label called Subterraneous Records in January of 2000. With Subterraneous, he was able to bring a handful of Michigan's elite producers and emcees and help create an underground force in what they first dubbed their home state "Waterworld" back in 1998. In just over a year towards the end of 2001 Subterraneous released "Waterworld Too" compilation with Subterraneous' roster and artists. In the meantime, OneBeLo continued to work on his solo material in the studio with fellow beat maker Decompoze. Together the two had been composing tracks as the Trackezoids, the soundtrack to the Subterraneous movement since Binary Star's first release. In late 2002, OneBeLo decided to press limited copies of a collection of songs that were not initially intended for release. The project F.E.T.U.S. (For Everybody That Under Stands) is a group of songs giving fans something to listen to that would be a segway into OneBeLo's solo material and has since proven to be a successful debut. Beyond recording music and running a record label, OneBeLo has been a driving force in Michigan's underground scene for years, performing at the Detroit Music Festival & Scribble Jam in Ohio for 3 years, as well as being the organizer and founder of the Waterworld Weekend Hiphop Festival. Beyond the Midwest, OneBeLo has planted seeds by going on national tours and is the official host of Brainstorm, the Emcee battle of the year that takes place annually in Seattle, WA. He has also performed at World renown events like Freestyle Session, Warped Tour, South by Southwest, Battle of the Year in Germany, as well as the the Bumbershoot festival in Seattle. He has shared the stage with many greats including KRS-One, Ghostface and Jurassic 5.
Since I'm feeling nice, I think I hook yall up with the info on his new album that just dropped back in Feb.

Today marks a sad sad day in the comic book world. One of my favorite comic book companies went under. The great Dreamwave, creator of such excellent comics as DarkMinds, Warlands, Transformers, Neon Cyber, Shidima, and others... has gone under. CEO and Dreamwave creator Pat Lee, is now working under Marvel. The now, defunct Dreamwave merchandise is said to become collector's items, ranging from action figures to picture cells. Seriously, this is hella whack. Pat Lee was like one of my favorite artists.... daaaaamn. I made sure to collect all his stuff. Now I'm going to be paying double price for his pieces that I don't have to finish out my collection. Here's the scoop, for any cyberpunks that are interested....
stripped from cinescape.com Dreamwave Productions, the comic book publisher of the TRANSFORMERS and DEVIL MAY CRY properties, is out of business. The company was established in 1996 by brothers Pat and Roger Lee and saw modest success with its DARKMINDS science fiction title, then attained greater visibility when it acquired the rights to publish TRANSFORMERS comic books. Dreamwave continued to build on its success with licenced properties by creating comics for TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, DUEL MASTERS and MEGA MAN. In a statement released by the company Pat Lee remarked that there were many factors that led to his decision to end the company, among them a stagnant comic book market, shrinking sales and a weakened American dollar (Dreamwave is a Canadian company.) Lee also added that he will be working for other comic publishers in the future; he recently provided the cover art for Marvel's recent 2099 one-shots as well as for IRON MAN and X-MEN UNLIMITED.
Hope fully I will somehow be able to max out my Pat Lee collection. And for yall that don't know Pat, he has a blended style of Manga and Western superheroe type... making characters that can appeal to everyone. Hopefully Pat will bless us with some of his original pieces sometime in the future. Anyone who likes comics (nerds unite!) should grab his stuff while its still available.
