We wouldn't write this, wouldn't even think of it, but the Commissioner says, "write," and we write God damn it. If a person were not to write, well, we'd rather not tell you how that goes. Let's just say said person merely wouldn't be able to write, unless he or she was fairly well adept with his or her feet. So we write. We write stories of Horror and Fantasy, stories of Love and Loss, stories of the mundane details of getting a bite to eat, or saving someone else from the very fate of being eaten.

This one instance we wrote of an evil genius' rise to power in the depths of the German trenches, which nearly led to a great victory, but his mind got the best of him and after a few radical decisions he ended up committing suicide in his bunker. We were told that was a great hit in the American market, though not so much in the European market. And though that was such a big hit, many of us developed a sort of conscience about being so evil in our writing, we decided to show a bit more of our loving sides, writing about equality for women and free love, not to mention that compilation of crazy short stories involving drug-induced euphoria. The Commissioner approved of this movement as well, saying the people got a feel for our "far out" side. We blushed a bit as the very phrase of our own creation was used to describe our work. Then we turned to the realm of science fiction relying on the works of Jules Verne and H.G. Wells for a comical approach. (We later threw out these ideas for the most part, as the two aforementioned authors honestly don't have an ounce of creativity above us.) We wrote about these devices called "computers" and how they changed the world's theories and ways of communication, creating more division amongst its peoples than ever before. Apparently this too was a big hit, even sparking the creative mind of a "George Lucas." (While we enjoyed his movies, we felt somewhat offended that he had borrowed so much from our prior German dictator story, as well as a few other things we had written over the years.) Finally we have written mundane details of everyday life for some, while writing of war fueled by religion and greed for others. While the latter was certainly not anything entirely original, we decided to pay homage to The Authors before us who wrote a great compilation known as "The Crusades."

So what do we write now? We said, "We wouldn't write this, wouldn't even think of it" and that's the very case. We never would've thought of this, never intended it to emerge. We found it one day. Perhaps we were meant to find it. Who really knows? But we found it all the same: a boring television, something of our creation many years ago. And beside it sat a box of DVD's, also something of our creation many years ago. The box was labeled "The History Channel" and we wondered why there was a box of movies to show what had previously occurred. Our curiosity got the best of us, and of course we watched every event in full. To our surprise, someone had either choreographed our entire collage of work over our entire lives, or the unthinkable occurred. The German dictator, or "Hitler" as they called him, was real. Millions of people acted out our greatest works. Millions of people suffered and died in misery from our greatest works. No way could that had been mere acting. There was no way a human could have been emaciated to the point of death merely for our works. It had to be real.

So we write. We wouldn't write this, wouldn't even think of it, but the unthinkable had occurred. So we did write:
"2012, The Authors set down their pens."
